Final score: Bradley 65 ISU 59

Wow! Fun game! And to think I almost didn’t go.. lol.

Love how we are playing right now, love what Henry is giving is too. This is fun!

Henry (4-7, 11 pts, 6 rebs) and Lundy (3 asst and zero turnovers) are very pleasant surprises with their caliber of play.

ANOTHER GREAT WIN!!....THIS TEAM HAS FINALLY COME TOGETHER AND IT SHOWS IN THE WAY THEY PLAY. We come up the floor much faster and with real purpose, our passes are generally quick and crisp (I wish we ccould eliminate cross-court "skip passes" which usually turn out bad a cause turnovers. We are much tougher inside, and our high energy gives us confidence and helps our shooting. With our new recruits next year, we should be able to make a good run to win the valley.

What a game. What a turn around to the season. Upset Drake and we really got something goin. Total team effort. Both teams were fightin for that inch. Go Braves. Wardle for COY!

Totally unbelievable and a truly incredible turn around compared to how The Braves were playing up till January 16th (a month ago) - and then "things began to gel". The Braves only real sputter was January 26th at Missouri State …. The only other loss was to Southern Illinois by 3 and The Braves were still developing today's team chemistry.... Gosh are these guys fun to watch and showing the maturity to hold on to the lead and not be phased during the end of extremely stressful close games on hostile opposing courts. I / we need to enjoy these seniors.... Go Bradley...

The first 3 minutes of the game were ugly, as ISU quickly built a 11-0 lead. Bradley outscored ISU over the final 37 minutes by 17 points (65-48.).
The big difference was the improved shooting, especially from three. Bradley was 50% from three (9-18 ) though they missed their first two. And the other major factor was the outstanding defense that Bradley played holding ISU to just 35.4% shooting (23-65), and just 23.1% from three (6-26).
Rebounding was 43-38 in favor of ISU, and ISU had 16 offensive rebounds, but fortunately they only scored 9 points on all those offensive boards.

As noted, the poor shooting of Copeland, Tinsley, and Evans (combined 4-24 from the floor and 2-15 from three) really hurt ISU.

Bradley is now in a 3-way tie with ISU and SIU for 4th place. They hold the tiebreaker over ISU, but not over SIU-

Bradley plays next at Drake on Tuesday night.

I’ve said all year that’ Bradley has the most talented team in the Valley! Now it’s finally come together. So happy for this team right now!! Awesome win! Go Braves!!

Where has this team been hiding? Really great to see them come together and play as a team. Also nice to see Dave Reynolds miss another prediction. When can we get a pro-Bradley sports writer covering the Braves?
Another big game coming up Tuesday at Drake. If that game were on a Saturday we would go. My son is a Drake grad, but still a BU supporter. Would be nice to go to game with him.
Go Braves!!!

As soon as we get a consistent team.

WOW! From 0-5 to 7-7 is an unbelievable effort. Now in a 3 way tie for 5th with the Redbirds and SIU though I expect UNI to make it a 4 way tie after they beat Evansville tomorrow. Took us awhile to get going but once Nate came in things seemed to settle down on both ends and we kept chipping away. Thankfully the Redbirds didn't go to Fayne more than they did as he was pretty unstoppable but Mueller's teams live and die on the 3 point line and tonight, after making their 1st 3 three point shots, were just 3-23 the rest of the game. We survived an 8 minute stretch from 12:30 to 4:30 where all we scored was 2 Nate 3's because our defense really stiffened up. From the 13:40 mark to the end of the half we gave up just 10 points and we made 6 of our last 7 three point shots in that period to go up 33-30. Nate scored all 15 in that half including the go ahead shot at the end of the half. Early in the 2nd half the Redbirds cut the lead to 1 but they never could get the lead back. A really good team effort in the 2nd half kept the Redbirds at bay. Ding dong the 11 game Redbird Arena losing is over! Don't stop now boys! KEEP GETTING ER DONE!

Great win! Henry is becoming this seasons Donte Thomas. He's physical, athletic, and a whole lotta desire. He's going to be fun to watch the next 3 years. Here's a question....a month ago people was ready to get rid of Wardle....you still think we should? lol, lol. lol.
Go Braves

Huge win! So happy for the team. I did not think we’d be at 7-7 after we started 0-5. I’m starting to think we may not be playing Thursday night after all.

Also, did anyone else catch Wardle all but confirming Pittman is leaving after the season on the post game show? He was talking about how happy he was for the seniors, mentioning Lundy, DLO, Luuk and Pete, then added “that Pitt is graduating this spring too, so it was good for all of them”.” I know he redshirted last year and this is his fourth year, so graduating isn’t a surprise, but I don’t think coach would’ve mentioned him with the seniors if he was planning on having him back next season.

I totally agree - what a transformation by Ja'Shon. And what a feat of Coaching these past few weeks by Wardle and his coaching staff. These last 2 weeks of the season and then Arch Madness are going to be exciting. Arch Madness is any team's to win and Bradley is now showing it is one of the stronger contenders.

Man What a Game! We were there and the energy was high and great turnout for Bradley Fans. They played well and Henry is a beast! I still think we should keep him coming off the bench but he should be getting 20-25 minutes a game. The flopping and ridiculousness from some of the ISU players was annoying but hey a win is a win and a big win too!

Yeah Pittman just never came to be anything and honestly this is good because now we have another recruit spot open. Bradley should try to get a big man with the last recruiting spot. Pittman is a great team player and is better off just graduating. He is in a similar spot like Alex Foster from a couple years ago.

Congratulations Braves and Coach Wardle!

So impressive to turn things around. Team apparently stayed together and believed in their Coach, their system and themselves!

Enjoy the rest of the season, and NEVER forget how you turned things around. Don't take any team/game for granted. Succeed when 3's aren't falling with defense, moving the ball, taking good shots, rebounding and making free throws!

I think our upper bowl fans should have come down and stormed the court - woulda been an instant classic... and probably been #1 on ESPN :D

btw - this comment from Dan Muller -
"Muller noted how critical that stretch was for his team since leading scorer Milik Yarbrough had twisted his ankle
in the final minutes of the first half and had to sit out the rest of the period.
Yarbrough came back in the second half and would finish with 20 points.
“It was huge,” Muller said. “Without a doubt, when Milik went down, it hurt us. He couldn’t move as well once he got hurt.”

so... with the MVC Tournament just 2 1/2 weeks away - Muller admits he went with Yarbrough while injured (played 31 minutes) - even tho "he couldn't move as well.." He's worn those guys into the ground - I guess we'll see if it hurts them come MVC Tourney time.

Dan had to play MY. It was a huge game and he knew he was going to be run out of his own gym if he didnt. Fayne is a stud and should be all mvc first team. IMO. Of course the remaining games count but at this point. Id put him on. Evans played great d on Brown. The birds need Key scoring. Brown stayed patient and got what he could. What a great year. If we wernt hurting so bad after a 0 and 5 start , this wouldn't feel as good. Thanks Srs and congrats.

A interesting and funny and true story...

So I am a huge Bradley fan and Alum who lives in LIttleton, CO. > and I knew that the ISU / Bradley game was Saturday night - and I really really wanted to watch the game but I had a dinner engagement that I could not break. My dinner engagement suggested that we go to Chili's in Littleton.... They set us at a table and I looked up and "low and behold" the Bradley / ISU game just started minutes ago and Bradley was loosing. So I situated myself so that I could periodically glance at the screen and minutes later near the end of the first half - someone changed the channel. So I got the waiter and shared that I was hoping to be able to watch the game and he got a little irritated with me and said he'll see what he can do - and I saw him talking to someone and this bigger and older man came walking up to me and I explained that "I am a Bradley Alum and was watching the Bradley / ISU game on their TV set and shared I was hoping that the station could be turned back to the Bradley game. It turned out that this guy was the Chili's manager and he smiled at me and stated " My Dad is a Bradley Alum " and both of us just laughed - This Chili's manger was born and raised in Peoria and went to the Bradley games at the old Robertson Memorial Field House and his dad went to Bradley when Chet Walker was playing. WHAT ARE THE ODDS.... Needless to say he turned the TV station back to the game. I just shook my head and sighed thinking again - What are the Odds...
