Final score: Bradley 72 UNI 53

Great game, and especially a great 2nd half. Bradley outscored UNI in the second half 40-20 to pull away for the easy win. Tremendous performance by Darrell Brown, and excellent games by Donte Thomas, Elijah Childs, Nate Kennell, DLO, Stipanovich, van Bree, and Hodgson.

The crowd was great. No attendance number yet, but looked like 6,000 or better.

Bradley seemed to play a different style of game today, compared with the game at Drake. Instead of a slowed down game looking to get the ball inside, we played a faster tempo, and took shots much earlier in the shot clock if they were good shots. It resulted in Bradley going 9-14 from three (64.3%), and 23-48 overall (47.9%). Their average scoring possession length was 16 seconds, which is lower than most games. They also rebounded well, outrebounding UNI 33-27.

I thought the turning point was when we hit several 3's in a row, especially DB, but just before that there was a loose ball at Northern Iowa's end and 3 BU players just watched it bounce and a UNI player grabbed it and scored. BW called timeout and met some guys at half court and was in their faces. It seemed like that really was the turning point as all of the guys seemed to be a lot more focused and played a lot harder after that.

Where are the naysayers who said that BU would get beat by 20 after we lost on the road to a much improved Drake team.
The league is wide open this guys

I??™m still here . Glad we played well and won at home.... this win is why the Drake loss stings so much . As I said , sweeping Drake and SIU were real possibilities when the season started . I??™m sure the team would like a do-over from Thursday !Hope BU continues to move up the valley . Good crowd today and fun win .

I look to at least stay competitive in this game.
Prediction: UNI 68 BU 61

So glad I was wrong on this one! Great crowd and win. Makes me wonder how many more may have come out if we would??™ve won Thursday? Anyway, let??™s do what the Braves apparently did and move on from the Drake debacle and compete for a top 4 finish!

Of course, it is tempting to think about that. If Bradley had made one more basket last Thursday, they would be 12-3, and 2-0 in the MVC, and every Bradley fan would be ecstatic.

well, we're tied for 4th in the MVC, and with Valpo, Evansville & SIU coming up, I think we can move up..

interesting reading the UNI message board- they are already packing it in this season and talking about next year!!
...They even turn on Ben Jacobson a little bit...and call for him to play a couple low-level walk-ons more

all road games are tough but Evansville has not been impressive their last 6 games

They have lost 3 in a row and didn't even look like a DI team in one of them..
in the others, they barely beat two teams that were sub-.500 and against a weak NAIA team, they didn't take charge until well into the 2nd half.
We need to take advantage of them down low.

Undefeated in Peoria. Let??™s keep it that way. I love the job Wardle is doing. Child??™s and Brown will be quite the duo in a yr or two. 10 and 8 May Win the title this year. If the numbers work lol . Did Dbj just get his name in the poy talk? I can??™t wait for Bar to come around. #Themovement.

I'm glad you're still around. Yes the DU loss stung a lot but then I've said for a while that DU is a sleeper this year in the league. I still think 12 or 13 wins could win the league so we need to hold court at home and steel 2-3 road wins (which might not be that easy) and we will be in good shape.

I just took a closer look at the box score and noticed that Bennett Koch only played 18 minutes. He was not in foul trouble do why the reduced playing time?

I discussed that with a couple other Bradley fans. Obviously, it was a decision made by Jacobson, though I couldn't find that anyone asked him about it. Maybe it was because he was not very effective the time he did play, maybe Jacobson wanted to go with a smaller lineup since Bradley was killing UNI from outside. Maybe he wanted to give more time to Friedman and Phyfe (who were equally ineffective). Or maybe he was just unhappy with his effort and was sending a message.
Note that their other starting big man Klint Carlson also played only 17 minutes, was scoreless, did not even attempt a shot or a free throw, and had 3 turnovers. He has hurt Bradley the last 2 seasons, but looked hapless in yesterday's game.
From what I saw, it had a lot to do with the Bradley defense and the coaches' game plan that took Koch and Carlson out of the game.

there was a stretch where Ben Jacobson thought his players were not giving the effort he desired so he yanked them all and sent in a full shift of 5 subs..
There was a mention specifically that he observed his players losing a couple 50-50 balls by not getting down on the floor as he has come to expect of his squads.
A couple of those guys (Koch, Carlson) played only sparingly (7 minutes) the 2nd half, altho Jacobson had another urge to do the 5-man sub when Bradley scorched a few 3-pointers that weren't guarded.
