UIC is coming off one of their better games, losing a close decision at Missouri State 63-59 this past Tuesday (1/23/23). UIC lead at halftime 30-29, and kept the game close throughout the 2nd half, and they lead Missouri State as late as 48 seconds left in the game.

Their only MVC win was 55-51 against Illinois State on Dec. 28. Since then, they have lost their last 8 games. The have had several close losses, including the last minute loss at Missouri State, close losses at home to Belmont and UNI, and an overtime loss at home to Drake.

A lot of tickets are available if anyone is interested in attending the game. It might be better to buy them at the arena to avoid the absurd Ticketmaster fees, and because there are usually more tickets available that apparently are held back and not available on Ticketmaster.

I will be attending. If anyone on the board wants to say hello, feel free to reach out to me!

Side note, for anyone not local, the weather is looking lousy for the weekend (up to 6 inches of snow) but it looks like it will taper off by early Sunday if you're making the drive. Also, there are many lots right by the stadium, so unlike some venues, parking is pretty easy.

Must win. That's all I can say. And not a given based on our performance against the Redbirds. And even though there will probably be as many Bradley fans there as UIC, it is an away game. I hope a good amount of the Chicago alum show up to help mitigate that.

Has anyone been to UIC for a game?

How is parking? Cost? Close to the arena?

EDIT:
https://www.uicpavilion.com/pavilion/directions-parking/

I found the parking info, looks like there is a lot of parking available and only 5 bucks.

I've been there several times. Parking is not a problem, especially with it being Sunday, and all the lots normally filled with commuter students and teachers/professors will be empty.
There is a large parking deck right next to the arena on the east side. And a large parking lot directly across Harrison Street from the arena.

This picture is from BUfan17's post. The arena is labeled Pavilion-

Will be in attendance with Tommy (assuming we don’t get snowed in). Looking for a road win on my birthday.

just for reference for those unfamiliar with Chicago-
the map above calls the major interstate "The Eisenhower Expressway", but most maps or Google searches will call it I-290 or 290
and you will be looking for exit 29 (either 29A if coming from the west or 29B if coming from the east)
and the exit you need will also be labelled South Racine Avenue. The arena is directly south of the exit but don't turn on the first
street (Congress Parkway), go past the arena on Racine and turn onto Harrison to look for parking.

Really big day for BU today again with Belmont and SIU going down. Really disappointed with the way we played with a lead today though. Just didn't have the killer instinct to put UIC to rest when we had a large lead. But we went on the road and got a W. Big big game coming up against the Salukis on Wednesday.

Pretty middle of the pack team type of game. Won and on the road, but didn’t look great against a bad team.

Defense was not great for long stretches. Played sloppy at times on offense. Good games from Leons (a little more aggressive today, nice to see him drive in and go up strong and not fade away), Mast, Deen, and Zek. Not much else today beyond those four. I was impressed with Zek getting to the line, as we have desperately needed that this year. It was almost weird to see because we haven’t had a guy get to the line much in recent years. Hickman needs to stop playing point guard, let Zek do it as the backup.

I guess it’s a road win, but a pretty ho-hum one for sure. This team continues to look unimpressive as a whole.

To stay in the hunt today was a must win....road win for this squad is huge....Hannah and Hickman, add Ville not giving much IMO....always losing ball on drive out of control. Very glad we won but there is a lot to shore up before the Valley tourney for Bradley to make a solid run...:-o:wink:

Definitely have been playing uninspired the past few games. Next game against SIU is huge. Which team will show up? Really need to get it it together before the tournament

Let me put a couple things in perspective. UIC almost beat Misssouri State at Missouri State, a tough place to play. Plus Drake had to go to overtime to beat UIC. The people that should be going thru convulsions are SIU fans. They lost to Illinois State, the third worst team in the conference

Any team can pull an upset, especially on their home court (except it seems Evansville). So the Braves can't have another letdown.
Bradley played extremely well today on offense. And though Coach Wardle seemed disappointed with the defense, I thought the defense wasn't bad. UIC just played very well on offense, and Jace Carter is a terrific player. And not to complain about officiating, but the way it was called with every touch called a foul, seemed to benefit UIC.

Go BU
Looking to see the Braves in 1st place by Wednesday night.
