And not only does Jonovic play way too many minutes, Wardle actually keeps him way too involved in the offense. Why would anyone want to use him to catch a high post entry and make a basketball decision or why use Jonovic for any pick and roll action. I really don't understand how Wardle and all the assistant coaches can not create better offensive sets to play to his player's strengths. Think of how much better Bully and Wheeler would be if BU had 1 mediocre big? Imagine if they could run pick and roll or pick and pop with any big on the roster? How about use more double screens, slip screens, elevator screens, screen the screener, etc. to get guys open with good spacing? How about a big that you can count on to finish? Our guards have to be perfect with their passes and decisions and I'm actually surprised that our turnover numbers are not much higher. I'll take Bully all day and his steals and how tough he plays. I'll take Wheeler all day with his steals and his energy. Jonovic, Yu, TVK and Thomas can play on the JV team. Wardle and his staff should take ownership for their roster- they recruited and signed them!!! And nobody should use the excuses of "he's a freshman" or "he needs to get stronger" or "the refs" or "tough road game." I expect that BU should never get blown out by a Valley opponent. UNI is not a tough environment. It's a couple hours away with a couple thousand fans. It's not playing at Cameron Indoor or playing at Arizona. And forget about the refs. This team, like any team, has 100 things they can do better and don't need to worry about refs. By the way, watch Jack Smiley away from the ball and with the ball tonight. He's a small true freshman, 6'2" maybe 170 lb? Look how Belmont has used him this year and played to his strengths (great perimeter shooter). I don't understand why our coaching staff cannot figure out a way to play to the strengths of Richardson and Zobrist and Burch and give them 20 minutes game.
