Final score: Bradley 95 Belmont 84

We know his numbers this year are not as good as last season.
But does anyone believe that is the sole reason to relegate him to the end of the bench with the walk-ons?

One flaw in putting too much weight on +/- is that it is somewhat dependent on what other players you are playing with.
Players who come off the bench are playing more with the other 2nd string players and less time with the 1st stringers, so it would be expected to drop if he is not starting,

Hey,it doesn't seem to affect Meta's playing time at all.He is a senior and still can't find the basket half of the time. Not a fan of him at all!
And not only does Jonovic play way too many minutes, Wardle actually keeps him way too involved in the offense. Why would anyone want to use him to catch a high post entry and make a basketball decision or why use Jonovic for any pick and roll action. I really don't understand how Wardle and all the assistant coaches can not create better offensive sets to play to his player's strengths. Think of how much better Bully and Wheeler would be if BU had 1 mediocre big? Imagine if they could run pick and roll or pick and pop with any big on the roster? How about use more double screens, slip screens, elevator screens, screen the screener, etc. to get guys open with good spacing? How about a big that you can count on to finish? Our guards have to be perfect with their passes and decisions and I'm actually surprised that our turnover numbers are not much higher. I'll take Bully all day and his steals and how tough he plays. I'll take Wheeler all day with his steals and his energy. Jonovic, Yu, TVK and Thomas can play on the JV team. Wardle and his staff should take ownership for their roster- they recruited and signed them!!! And nobody should use the excuses of "he's a freshman" or "he needs to get stronger" or "the refs" or "tough road game." I expect that BU should never get blown out by a Valley opponent. UNI is not a tough environment. It's a couple hours away with a couple thousand fans. It's not playing at Cameron Indoor or playing at Arizona. And forget about the refs. This team, like any team, has 100 things they can do better and don't need to worry about refs. By the way, watch Jack Smiley away from the ball and with the ball tonight. He's a small true freshman, 6'2" maybe 170 lb? Look how Belmont has used him this year and played to his strengths (great perimeter shooter). I don't understand why our coaching staff cannot figure out a way to play to the strengths of Richardson and Zobrist and Burch and give them 20 minutes game.

again-
who you gonna play in the paint?
Meta is far and away our best guy there on defense, and prob offense as well. It's not like we have POB waiting to enter the game.

do people think it's easy to recruit quality big men to the MVC? Like we can just go out and pick who we want?
I have a feeling our staff is putting every ounce of energy into recruiting right now.. give them some credit.
Just the fact that our guys found and landed Meta is impressive. If we didn't have him we'd be sub-.500.

Who’s going to start tonight any predictions?
Looks like Jonovic, Van der Knaap, Smith, Huibregtse, and Johnson

Sounds like you need to be the head coach since you have it all figured out.

Don't blame Burch at all...taking a lot of heat when the whole team lacks in playing defense!👎👎👎
Sorry but without Burch only the PGs can dribble the ball...Richardson is not there yet!🎯🎯🎯

I'm not at all happy with the Burch situation. I'm sure there are two sides to the story, but this is probably an example where Wardle was too much of a hard a$$ and Burch got sick of it. Ever notice that almost every time a Bradley player commits a foul, they look over to the bench try to plead with coach to forgive them or that it wasn't their fault. Atlason was the worst at this. I don't like that the players are deathly afraid of upsetting Wardle. Burch, of course will not be back, but, Im starting to wonder if others will leave. I'm predicting Timoty might also leave, and even Jaquan (although mostly because of interest from other teams, not because of Wardle)

It was great to see Christian Davis at the game. He has been playing with a pro team in Finland, but he has not played in their last few games. He is still on their roster, so he might be dealing with an injury.
