Bradley is now 8-3 and has 2 more non-conference games left before the MVC season begins on Dec. 31 at home against Drake.
The next game is Saturday, Dec. 21, at 1:00 PM (Central) at Miami University. The Miami Redhawks are 5-5 this season, and they play at #3 ranked Louisville on Wednesday, Dec. 18, so they most likely will be 5-6 when they host Bradley on Saturday.
Miami University is a public university founded in 1809, and has a beautiful campus located in Oxford, Ohio. The enrollment is about 20,000.

Miami is a member of the Mid-American Conference since 1947. They have had 10 losing seasons in a row, and are coming off a 15-17 season last year, and they finished 7-11 in the MAC. Their last NCAA appearance was 2006-07 when they coached by Charlie Coles, who coached there for 16 seasons (1996-2012).
Miami historical record-
https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/miami-oh/

They were picked to finish 4th out of 6 teams in the MAC East Division, and 8th overall out of 12 MAC teams in the 2019-20 MAC Preseason Poll.-

Miami has already played 2 other MVC teams. They beat Drake 67-59 on Nov. 25 in the Gulf Coast Showcase in Fort Myers, FL, and they lost at Evansville 101-87 on Dec. 7.

Their leading scorer is Preseason MAC 1st team All-MVC Nike Sibande, a 6'4" junior guard from Indianapolis, who averages 14.9 ppg.
2nd leading scorer (13.3 ppg) and top rebounder (7.0 rpg) is 6'7" junior forward Dalonte Brown.
They have 6 other players who average between 5.0 ppg and 9.4 ppg-
Stats through 10 games- https://miamiredhawks.com/documents/...BK_Overall.pdf

Miami averages 74.8 ppg and yields 73.2 ppg. Bradley averages 73.6 ppg and yields 62.4 ppg.
Miami shoots 43.3% overall, and 32.7% from three, which is a little below average, though they do have several players who shoot over 40%.
Bradley shoots 44.1% overall, and 36.6% from three.
And of course, Bradley will be playing their first game without leading scorer and rebounder Elijah Childs.

This will be the first ever meeting between Bradley and Miami of Ohio.

Wow, hard to believe the Braves and (now) Redhawks have never met. The distance isn’t that great.

I’ll be interested to see how the team responds to the injury in a tough environment. It’s still a very winnable game without Eli.

Miami lost big last night at Louisville, 70-46. So their record is now 5-6.

In the game at Louisville, Miami shot only 27.3%, and only 18.2% from three. They also got outrebounded 54-40. Louisville is a big and athletic team, but Bradley can still try to play physical and use their athleticism against Miami like Louisville was successful doing.

Here are their team stats after 11 games-

I'm intrigued by this matchup with M(OH) Saturday afternoon.
M(OH) showed well on the road at Louisville for 30 min, and may feel encouraged to "get right" at home on Saturday.
Bradley has been playing well, but finds themselves without their floor leader and scoring leader, and hasn't won a true road game yet this season.
On paper it could be seen as a game Bradley should win, but anything could happen.
We know the coaches will put together a winning game plan, but will the Braves execute the plan without Childs calling huddles and making plays?
Will the Braves continue putting the ball through the net and shake off the "yips" we've seen before?
This game will be very interesting is seeing where we are at from a mental and physical toughness standpoint.
Looking forward to it!

Darrel Brown's season high this year is 17 points. Last season, he had 12 games with 17 or more points, including 7 games with 20 or more.
We need DB to have a breakout game today.

Dave Snell said on the pregame show that Elijah's injury is a "broken hand", though that was never clearly said by Bradley. He is wearing a rigid brace on the right hand on the bench.

Miami is one of 60 schools that play NCAA Division I hockey. The arena they are playing in today has the oversize floor to accommodate their hockey ice.

Here is a screen shot from the video stream. He has a splint extending down the middle fingers.

Pathetic. Blown out by a MAC team (where Geno came from).

i don’t know how we prepare and travel for road games, but they better change whatever they’re doing. Our shooting on road games has been absolutely abysmal.

A real stinker. Bradley loses to Miami 71-55.
https://miamiredhawks.com/sidearmstats/mbball/media

Darrell Brown went 0-11 from the floor; Bradley shoots 32.7% and only 13-26 on FTs.

We needed the other starters, plus Henry to step up in Childs' absence, but none of them did, maybe with the exception of Nate Kennell, who had 11 points. The starting 5 shot 10-42 for the game (23.8%).
I thought Ville Tahvanainen and Stephan Gabriel were about the only bright spots. I am curious to see who is named "Player of the Game".... probably Ville.

Going to try and not overreact to this game. I knew we would struggle without Eli but just not this much. When you can’t shoot and then let it affect your defense you just don’t give yourself any chance to win. The biggest issue I had on offense today was no ball movement. Having just 5 assists just isn’t good enough. Too much individual play. Just another bad road game. Have to get this figured out real quick or face the prospect of having a similar start to the Valley season that we had last year.

That was just awful. What happened to DB’s shooting. It was bad and seemed to impact the rest of his game 5 pts on 0-11 from the field, 3 assists, 3 TO’s and 4 fouls is just a horrible game. With Eli out and a game like that from DB we won’t beat anybody. The FT shooting was just horrible from everyone. Ville was the bright spot and I still like Stephan on the floor.

Pathetic loss! Ive been saying for a long time now that one player this team can’t afford to lose is Elijah. His athleticism, strength and leadership are hard to replace as was evident today. Also what has happened to Darrells scoring as of late? Also knowing Elijah is out why can’t Nate and Darrell become more vocal leaders on the court? Got to get ‘this figured out quick especially if Elijah is out for the full 6 weeks...

I agree with everything being stated here - an extremely dismal showing.

I could vent a lot - but I'll attempt to keep it to a minimum.

I am completely surprised how certain members from last years team are not showing up. Most specifically Darrell Brown - what is his issue? or issues?

Look at the attached Box Score from the Miami game.

A huge and likely only bright spot is Ville Tajvamaonen - his game is maturing each week.

This reminds me of last years team - that virtually crashed after last years Cancun Classic. This team is "NOT READY" to play the cream of the MVC conference - Drake and Northern Iowa. They are unable to play on the road - except for one game against KSU on a neutral court. And last years Darrell Brown can definitely out play this years version fo Darrell Brown. Why ? And why does Bradley play at home against these pansy teams - just to blow them out? This team has regressed so much - I thought they could build from last year and be well ahead of where they were last year at this time.

Good luck Bradley and Coach Wardle and Team.

I wonder if Coach Wardle has thought of having Darrell Brown getting up on Boya's shoulders and measuring the distance from the rim to the floor when we play on the road. That way DB can see that it's just the same as back home in Peoria.
