Bradley is now 8-7 and 0-2 in the MVC after the loss at Indiana State. Their next game is Tuesday Jan. 8, at 7 PM at Valparaiso. The Crusaders are 9-6 overall, and 5-2 at home, and are co-leaders in the MVC at 2-0 after a home win against Illinois State and their road win Saturday at Missouri State.

Valpo is coming off a 82-66 win at Missouri State, but the game was a blowout from very early in the first half. Valpo lead by 22 at halftime and stretched their lead to 25 early in the 2nd half. Then they played mostly reserves the rest of the way, allowing MSU to close the margin to 16. Most of Valpo's starters played less than 20 minutes.
They have 5 players who average double figures, lead by junior Ryan Fazekas, a 6'7" transfer from Providence, who is also their best 3-point shooter at 43.5%.

Bradley fans in red did make up about 30% of the crowd at Valpo last year! But this year it's a midweek game so there will likely be far fewer than last year.

Pretty much a must win for the Braves. I can’t imagine too many teams have started 0-3 in league play and avoided the Thursday night play in round at Arch Madness.

Everyone a go for tonight?

There has been no report about any of Bradley's players, or their availability. In fact, the pregame media report I read says almost nothing about Bradley, and is almost all about Valparaiso and their players.

Luqman Lundy is in the starting lineup tonight, along with DLO, Darrell Brown, Koch Bar, and Elijah Childs.

It’s halftime and we could come back to win, sure. That being said, what a disappointment this team is so far. Not just the losing since Cancun but we can’t even make shots. I can hardly watch anymore. It’s disgusting.

We’ve read this book before. Same thing, different year. As stated before, the coaching staff has failed miserably at recruiting players that can shoot.

After trailing by as much as 17 points, Bradley closed to within 5 points, 50-45 with 2:43 left in the game. But then Valpo stretched out the lead again to double-digits. Bradley loses 61-50-

Bradley shot 22% in 1st half (6-27), and 39% (11-28 ) in the 2nd half, and 31% for the game (17-55).
Valpo shoots 49% for the game (24-49), and out-rebound Bradley 38-29 despite losing their best player and top scorer early in the game. Only 10 of their rebounds were by their big men, the rest by their guards.
Bradley is now 8-8, 0-3 in the MVC. Next game is Saturday at home against Missouri State. MSU beat Indiana State in Terre Haute tonight 72-57.
Bradley is now all alone in last place in the MVC-

Yes - Valpo is all alone on top and Bradley all alone on the bottom - Not much difference between all 10 teams.... look at the Loyola score and the Southern Illinois score and the Missouri State score. Wardle's post game stated - Lack of Confidence, Wardle loves his players, need to get through this and "block out the noise" the team is hearing now... For me a very positive post game by Wardle...

I went and watched my old grade school team play last night. The 8th grade scored 45 points in four six minute quarters. I enjoyed that game more than the last few Bradley games. But I'm not giving up. We can still turn this season around.

Kennell was 0-6, Childs was 3-12, and Brown was 6-18. We need some shooters really bad and tonight showed it. I say give Luuk the start and see what he can do. We need someone besides Brown to step up and be a major scorer. I was hoping either DLO or Pittman would fill that role but neither of them have been major contributors. Koch showed a lot of promise earlier in the year, I hope he can return to that same level.

As a 70 year BU fan, 59 year alum, and long time season ticket holder .... sadly .... I think I’ve lived long enough to witness the rise and demise of a legendary Division 1 basketball program. Thanks for the memories, Paul, Squeaky, Billy, Barney, Bobby Joe, Shelly, Chet, Hersey, Forddy, Ozzie, Joe and Jim.

Agree 100% with your post. I'm 73 and remember going to see the Braves return from an NIT championship in 1958. The terminal was on airport road at the time. Don't see those days in my future. Never been a coach so I sure do not understand what the problem really is. I do know we have no shooters and that would fall on recruiting. On the outside it appears to me their are more things going on then we know. Thursday appears to be in the cards unless a miracle happens quickly.

As a younger fan when I moved away from Peoria I was quite sad to not be attending games any more, though I still watch on ESPN+. When I first came to Bradley my grandparents remembered Bradley from the multiple NIT championships even though they had never even been to Peoria. I still love the school and always will and I have not lost faith in Wardle yet but I really do hope that we can at least recapture some conference wins and become a perennial worry for other teams.
