Final: Utah 68 BU 60

My question is how CW gets into the game 5 mins before WL gets off the bench? WL had 12 pts if I heard right......same old song...missed FT's-unforced TO's-WE fouls out! MK hasn't shown enough D' or rebounding in practice to earn game minutes according to JL.
The 4 asst is the lowest # I can remember as a Braves fan!

But honestly, there are so few positives from this game. Call a spade a spade, this was embarrassing. Is it baseball season yet?

Sitting here and I have NO idea what to say. Boring comes to mind...sad.....disgusting.....

I can't recall much worse of a time save for Albecks final year in all my time watching BU hoops.

We have nothing.....and I see no hope of anything getting better because we have yet to play anybody thats any good.

People are talking about staying home in my section. Thats scary. Its called apathy and it can kill a program.

Call a spade a spade, this was embarrassing.

Embarrassing is the right word. The guy behind me said he was going to bring a paper sack to the next home game to wear over his head.

Honestly, I understand that BU might struggle without SM and TB, but we look like we have no fundamentals at this point.

Has WE ever passed the ball back out....once he has it ...its going up...period! Can we install a new play called the inside/out game .....................

, but we look like we have no fundamentals at this point.

2 great examples...both at the free throw line...player shoots and NO BU player blocks out the shooter and he's the first guy to the ball.

Another free throw shot and NO BU player blocks out or even comes close to putting a body on the guy and BAM he's got the rebound.

BU goes down hits a three and got some mo but JL is SO livid about the no box out he calls a TO so he can rail the two guys that failed to box out.

That's what I have been saying over the past week or two. We still should be at least 6-2 even without TB and SM. The last three losses had more to do with lack of fundamentals than anything else. I say that because we have had plenty of open looks, but miss too many easy shots. We turnover the ball well away from opposing players. And we can't rebound.

Now if we can put ourselves into position to get easy shots without TB and SM, there's no reason we shouldn't be able to finish the job and make some of these shots. And don't get me started on free throws! Losing your two best players should not affect making stationary shots with no time running off the clock!

I think since losing TB and SM we have yet to play a game where we have been thoroughly outclassed as far as manufacturing open shots. It's just that we can't finish up on layups and free throws and that has nothing to do with missing players. What a shame!

I'm not saying Les is not stressing fundamentals in practice, or not having players take shooting and rebound drills, but I just don't get why I am not seeing any improvement on these fronts. I know this is stuff that good players learn in junior high school, but it's never too late to refresh players that need it. Fundamentals of shooting and rebounding are things that should be fixable irregardless of how many players are injured, but I'm not seeing any signs of improvement in recent games.

Here is my biggest problem... I can accept losses, especially when you have 2 devastating losses to the core of the team. But the lack of effort and discipline that has been shown the last couple games irritates me. Its like the team has decided to ride the injury excuse for all its worth and throw the towel in early.

I just see very little talent from the men in suits and uniforms.....plain and simple.

We aint good...PERIOD.

The ball hog nature of this team bothers me (too much isolation from what I could imagine listening). Four assists in total? I know Utah was not any better, but we all know what they had that BU does not.

I pose this question to the team, what would SM think of your performance tonight?

I believe in the talent there, I just am not sure it is being coached in the most effective way... but that is another deletable argument altogether that I am not going to embark upon.

Well if that's the issue then it's a recruiting problem, not coaching. We may just not be very good, and even if we had TB and SM, while we would win more games we would not be very deep. But again, I just can't blame injuries for the last few losses. It's just that this team can't shoot or hold onto the ball apparently.

I do not agree...Bradley was at it's best when we limit the number of passes. Late in the game when we shot quickly, we scored much more efficiently. The more we run the offense, the more we turn the ball over. It is purely a function of not having an effective point guard.
I'd rather see AW shoot more.

Still, the fact that Utah did not do so well from the line and the fact that one player accounted for half of the assists, tells me that the outcome of this game could have been different.

Also, the fact that JL called a time out not once but twice after a player made a basket killed some of the momentum the team was generating. Why do we have to pace ourselves in that regard, but we seem to fling shots that did not really get in?

I mean, Warren had 22 points, in 20 attempts.

What ever happened to the 10 ... 15 ... 20-foot jumper? We have one 3-point shooter, no big who can score from point blank range, guards who drive the lane and base line over and over again when there's place to go and then either step out of bounds, throw it away or throw up some crazy a$$ desperation shot. It NEVER changes. And it's getting mighty old.

I agree with that 100%. It seemed like Dodie wasn't giving it up at the end either. I understand AW was covered tightly but he still had 27 for the game and was scoring with a man in his face.
