Former Bradley players with eligibility elsewhere

wait - that's not correct. If you play even one minute in any game, you are not eligible for a redshirt.
What you are referring to with the 30% rule and not past midseason- is eligibility for a Medical Waiver - sometimes also called a medical redshirt.
But there needs to be a season ending injury, which Meta never had.

At the time Meta arrived, there was no such rule to allow him a redshirt year having played those 6 games. But NCAA is now softening rules,
so that in football (as of 2024) you can play up to four games, and still take that season as a redshirt year and not have those games count against
eligibility limits - https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...ollege-football-ncaa-eligibility/75384307007/

I don't believe however, that there is any such allowance in basketball at this time, but who knows- maybe it's coming.

Another kid, Tyon Grant-Foster, is also in the news waiting for a waiver. His case is really interesting.
He spent two seasons at juco (Indian Hills), then one season at Kansas, then two seasons at Depaul where he played only one game due to health issues.
Then he starred at Grand Canyon the past two seasons and then transferred to Gonzaga, expecting to get another, EIGHTH year of eligibility.
But he's still waining to hear.
....
NCAA has finally ruled on Tyon Grant-Foster and have denied eligibility, so, for now, his college career is over, but his lawyers have already appealed and asked for an emergency injunction.
Connor Hickman still has not heard on his eligibility waiver, but his situation is slightly different.

If Hickman still hasn't heard anything by their first game will he be required to sit out?
Not necessarily. There have been precedents in basketball and football of the NCAA clearing players after the season started, and they become immediately eligible when that happens, and can play.
There have been cases when the NCAA was slow getting all the documentation they needed to make their decision, or appeals or lawsuits delayed the process. And cases when schools providing that info to the NCAA were slow in sending it. It might become more common now with the current state of transferring, where players can have 3 or more transfers in their past, and the NCAA has to get documentation from all the athletes' prior schools and sort through it to determine how much eligibility the athlete has left.

I wonder if Hickman will have to give back his NIL money if he's declared ineligible? Somebody's paying for him to live in Charleston, which isn't cheap.

Charleston is playing their first game, 3 minutes left 1st half and nine different players have seen
playing time, but Connor Hickman has not played. One comment with photo online says he is out.
....probably still waiting for NCAA to decide on his waiver. NCAA needs to make the call, this is really
unfair to Connor.

Almar Atlason saw his first action for the Miami Redhawks last night in a game that was part of the MAC-SBC Challenge (Mid-American vs Sun Belt)
Miami (picked #2 behind Akron in the MAC Preseason Poll) beat Old Dominion (picked #5 in the Sun Belt Preseason Poll)- 87-72
Almar came off the bench and played 18 minutes and had 8 points on 2-4 from the field (all 3-pointers) and 2-2 on FTs. He had 0 rebounds, 1 assists, and 2 turnovers.
The top scorer for Miami was former Bradley recruit Brant Byers with 18 points.

This was just posted on a Charleston fan site:
"Connor Hickman - Ineligible to play.
Hickman (foot/ineligible) remains out for the time being and will miss more time aside from Friday's game against Liberty, Jeff Goodman of On3.com.
Impact Hickman received a waiver for an additional year of eligibility this offseason, but it seems the NCAA has reversed course and has now deemed him ineligible. It's unclear when he'll be able to return to the court."

He is not dressed nor travelling with the team, so I don't know his status, whether the situation is subject to appeal or if he's out of options.
He has been active posting on social media but not about basketball.

However, I am not convinced that he ever received that waiver.
As recently as the end of September, the local newspaper, the Charleston Post and Courier, reported this,
"Connor Hickman, who transferred from Cincinnati this spring, is still waiting to hear on his eligibility waiver from the NCAA."

Meanwhile, Malevy and his OKC Blue G-League team tips off in about an hour in their 2025-26 debut.

I sure wish Mal was with another team. OKC is just so stacked that it seems unlikely he'll ever get a chance to stay on the team for a significant amount of time

how about this guy...
Rienk MAST today had a triple double
18 pts, 12 reb, 10 asst on just 10 shots (8-10, 2-3 from 3-pt), in 25 minutes, Nebraska wins 96-66

At what point do you move on and quit clinging?

I think Connor will persist in trying every option he has to play another year, and when that's exhausted, he'll move on. He's a really bright kid and will be successful in whatever he does, even if its not basketball.

despite OKC losing, Malevy still had a good game
13 pts (team 3rd best), 11 reb (team best), 6 offensive rebounds (team best), 2 asst and only 1 TO in 29 min
The five starters combined for 24-61 (39% shooting)
Malevy came off the bench and shot 50%

If anyone watched the Nebraska-Oklahoma game yesterday, it was the Rienk Mast show. He was dominant throughout the game, and lead Nebraska to a big win over a good Oklahoma team. Rienk played 34 minutes and had 26 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and he was 5-7 from three. He is shooting 53.3% from three for the season. And he held Oklahoma's center Wague, to just 2 points. Every time Oklahoma made a run to challenge Nebraska's lead, Rienk made one big play after another to keep Nebraska ahead. If he stays healthy and keeps playing like this, he will be an All-Big Ten pick and could get some looks from the NBA.

well, not yet...
Connor Hickman taking on the NCAA in court
His court date is Nov. 25, but meanwhile the judge issued an injunction that makes him eligible to play until then.
They have games this Friday, Saturday and Monday in the Virgin Islands Paraduse Jam
