Former Drake coach Keno Davis on the hot seat at Providence

Keno Davis is part way through is 3rd season at Providence, but already he is on the hot seat-

Providence is 14-9 so far this season (3-7 in the Big East) . They started the Big East schedule 0-6, but have now won 3 of their last 4 games.
But disciplinary issues last spring lead to the dismissal of several players, and attendance this season has been off aropund an average of 2,000 per game lower than last season. Davis has 5 years left on his contract, so a buyout is not likely.
But Keno just got more bad news. His prized recruit for 2012 Ricardo Ledo, ranked as the #7 best player in the class of 2012 according to Scout.com and Rivals.com, just decommitted from Providence, and plans on reopening his recruiting-

I wouldn't call the team Keno inherited "great." They were 17-15, 6-12 MVC.

They also lost their top scorer and rebounder, Ajay Calvin, from the previous season.

Keno did a nice job in his season at Drake.

Have to agree that Keno did a great job coaching a good team , he made them a great team and left because of the huge opportunity for big bucks at Providence, hardest thing to do is when you leave your area it is harder to recruit because you end up being a fairly unknown coach in a foreign area but he is richer for doing it.

I really liked the way his team played at Drake... and for what it's worth, the couple of Providence games I've seen in the last couple of years they've looked fairly decent also. If he were to become unemployed and we had a vacancy at the same time, I'd definitely be interested...

Give Keno credit..

Took the money and ran.

Something CLo either didn't do, or didn't have the opportunity to do.

If he gets booted he will have a good sum of money and probably go back to being an assistant somewhere.

His dad built the good Drake team and gave it to Keno when they were ready to win.
