Fundamentals

I asked this in the chat room, and MM said to put it on the board...

I listen to most the games on the internet and I can't see our overall fundamentals--boxing out, hand up on shots but not jumping, crisp passes, taking charges, weak side D. How have we been doing this year to those of you fortunate to see the games?

Good enough to beat a ranked team on the road ;)

Boxing out has been abandoned. instead we push the other guy under the basket to get the board outside, but quite effective.

Passing, well, we still have the nation's leading assist leader.

Weak side D decent but needs improvement.

Agree on all counts.

Actually, the fundamentals are a part of the game that very few kids are good at.
A whole lot of kids come up through AAU playing terrible fundamentals and never quite learn them in college.
Bradley has a long way to go to be a very good fundamental team although I think we are better than average.

Actually, Drake is the best fundamental team in the Valley.
They generally pass well, shoot well, good shot selection, and do the screens and other fundamentals well.

Also, I think juco players are always a little lacking in fundamentals, and don't have enough time generally to learn them in 2 years in DI.
