GG 2 (hint: it wasn't the refs)

I kinda know what you are saying, but my belief is that they were a factor because they made the proper calls and let the players decide the outcome for the most part instead of altering the flow and the characteristics of the game.

Going 3 games

Going 3 games

I never doubted this series was going 3 games.$$$$$$$$$ Let them play and may the best team win game 3.

I've thought about this ref thing a little since Monday....to think they tried to make this series go three is crazy.
I'm sure the refs sacrificed all their integrity to make TU wins Monday so it goes three....the more I think about it the sillier it really is:roll:

lefty, no offense, but if you are saying that you believe refs are 100% impartial, and are never effected by other factors, then I believe that is even sillier.

Well what I think is to think that somebody says hey you refs make sure TU wins this game to give us the best odds of this tourney go three games so we can make more money is absolutely ludicrous...if people believe it we should be embarassed to be in it.

Can refs have an impact..certainly...but to say they tried to make sure it goes three is silly IMO.

I think all sports hope their"series" go the distance.

Complaining about refs is the easy out and doesn't force people to look at the actual game being played. Are refs 100% impartial? Of course not. But they aren't nearly as biased as many fans think they are. The refs really don't care who wins. They do cared about getting paychecks.

Also, to Tulsa fans, who is the little heavy-set kid on your team who came in for the last 20 seconds. That kid did not look like he belonged on a basketball court.

He's a walk-on in his third year with the team. He hurt his back early in the season and hasn't been able to practice since then, so I'm sure that's why he looks out of shape.

"I found myself commenting to those around me about the "make-up-calls" that happened quite a bit."

EXACTLY! The same thing has been going on all tournament. Not sure if it seems worse because the kids are playing harder or what... but it does seem worse.

Also, Da Coach, "dogsrus" said BU would enjoy home calls to ensure a three game series. I was kind of addressing him I suppose by posting we got smoked fair and square.

Win or lose, it will be a hell of a game.

I don't know if the make up calls were as prevelant in Tulsa.

VERY much so last night, but Monday...not so much

I thought it had to be something of that sort for him to come in at the end like that. Also... Bradley's last possession, one of the BU players ran over to Coach Les and said "they aren't gonna foul" and Jim called a time-out for us to get a "curtain call" for a couple of our seniors... and then Tulsa subbed with your player.

I just thought it was pretty sharp to see him sub the player in and also to call off the attack.

Rarely do you spot makeup calls on TV. On TV they are just bad calls.

I was sitting there watching the game, and there were tons of makeup calls - both ways. If you were in Tulsa and failed to see them, we'll just have to disagree. But makeup calls seem to be the norm in post season play in general (where the default is 'let them play').
