Greatest BU moment?

Listening to the postgame show on WMBD, Snell made reference to this being one of the greatest BU moments. What is your top 5 BU moments?

5) Hawk at Dayton to send the game into OT
4) CR's shot to win against Oakland
3) Will Franklin's shot in the NCAAs (at Oakland I believe)
2) Hawk's shot to win at Drake.
1) Deon's shot in the MVCtourney!

I was lucky enough to witness in person #s 4,3, and 1! and I re-enacted Hawk's shots numerous times in my drive way as a kid!

Will Franklin's game winner against UNI was pretty awesome.

Will's shot was at the Palace at Auburn Hills, but it was also on Oakland's home court floor.

Oakland was the host NCAA school for the 2006 Regional played at The Palace in Auburn Hills (right next to Rochester, MI, home of Oakland University). The Oakland U. floor was the one used for that Regional.

Oakland was the host.

As good as the shot is, given Bradley's history in college basketball, I'm pretty sure a shot to win a CIT game shouldn't be in the top 5.

I am sure in the entire history of BU basketball it wouldn't be. But since I am only 37 it makes mine. Then again if we had turned down the chance to play in any post season...the shot wouldn't have ever happened.

Or if we would have been good enough to make a legit tourney, it wouldn't have happened. Nonetheless, it was an amazing shot and I would personally put it at number 7 or 8.

they are still playin,an the NCAA was not a big time tourney the first
couple of years,so any game Bradley plays counts.

My opinion on this is slightly different than what I have seen posted here. I think that Hawk's shots should be 1 and 2 (your pick) for at least the degree of difficulty... I would list CR's shot third with Deon fourth. I am sure there are some fans on here from way back who would include other shots...

Last night was a HUGE shot but I do not feel it was the biggest in BU history.

I guarantee you if ESPN was big back in the JL/Hersey days the following would get big time play.

The JL to Hawk shot at Drake

Then 2 days later the JL to Hawk shot at Dayton

From my memory some huge shots were:

Parker hitting the winning shot at SIU
Franklin v Kansas and the one he hit v UNI in the MVC tourney in 07

But for my money the biggest shot hit was the one Deon hit v SMS in the Valley tourney just a miracle shot and stakes were higher.

My most memorable moment may have been J. Les driving the length of the court against ISU (I think 1986) and laying the ball in at the buzzer to send the game into OT. BU won! :) My seats were right under the basket and everyone went nuts!

yes it was in 1986, very memorable...and the Valley tourney games were on the campus sites...final score 65-64
probalby not many ISU fans' best memory

It's probably one of the biggest reasons ISU fans hate Jim Les with a passion...which makes it a great moment!

Jim Les

Jim Les

I remember the Jim Les shot at the buzzer to tie ISU. I believe both of the shots that Hawkins hit at Drake and Dayton were off long in bound passes from Jim Les. The basket made by Hawkins was only made possible on perfect feeds from Les.

The shot was difficult but I think greatness is determined by the totality of the circumstances. As much as I enjoyed that game, a program with as proud a history as ours cannot have a great CIT moment.

A Bradley Brave made a desperation shot to win a Bradley game. I don't care if the Braves were playing the team from section 16, it was still a great moment in Bradley history as it made national news and not just ESPN.

Good point...I agree! :D
