Jeremy had a very good opening effort in his very first effort for the New Yorker Phantoms. Although his team lost in their first pre-season game, Jeremy scored 11 points and made 5 steals in the 30 minutes he played on his 23rd birthday. It was the opponents 4th pre-season game. Will Franklin manned the point position for most of the game and scored 7 points. The German press took notice. The first line of the translated story of the game goes like this. "A good impression Jeremy Crouch,his first professional basketball season for the Phantoms play. On his 23rd birthday belonged to the U.S.-boy to the start formation and scored 11 points for the Braunsweiger Bundesliga."
