Who remembers this game? I was 2 months old. Im trying to figure out the authenticity of the signature because i have another one of his 47 point game high. And would like to find a collector that would be interested in this and other items I have. Thanks to all you fans Go Braves
Us old-time Bradley fans definitely remember that game. For anyone who doesn't remember or is too young, that was Hersey Hawkins' 63 point game at University of Detroit (before they merged with Mercy College to become Univ. of Detroit Mercy) on Feb. 22, 1988 (Hersey's senior year). It is still the all-time Bradley record for most points in a single game, and it is also the all-time record for most points in a game by an MVC player.
Not many Bradley fans were able to watch the game, since it was in Detroit, and I do not think it was televised.
I have a several items with Hersey's authentic autograph, and I will say that it certainly looks authentic to me. That is exactly how Hersey signed.
That has to be a very unique collectible! I will post a scan of one of the autographs I have of Hersey, and my thoughts on what you might consider doing with it.
National collegiate scoring leader Hersey Hawkins collected 63 points Monday night, breaking Oscar Robertson's 28-year-old, single-game record in the...
I found a photo showing a pretty clear image of Hersey Hawkins' authentic autograph. It looks like the one on your score sheet.
In answer to your other question, I am not sure it has great monetary value, since Hersey has long since retired from playing. But, I would be interested in it. I have a collection of Bradley memorabilia, and some of the items I have had in the past have been donated to Bradley and are among items on display in the Burklund Family Heritage Hall in the Renaissance Coliseum lobby, and in the Shaheen Hall of Pride museum in the Hayden-Clark building. Bradley might be interested in your autographed score sheet.
