This board is so negative right now, it's hard to read any posts without getting angry. So called fans are now ripping the same players that they were praising just 2 weeks ago. Thats the way it goes here in Peoria, though. Don't worry, I was once like you all, now I'm just a loyal, devoted fan who is happy to be 10-5 in a rebuilding year. GO BU!
 
It's just human nature. People always want more than they have. I'm also very pleased we are where we are to this point. This was a season everyone pinned us for .500 basketball, which could still realistically happen, too.

What I want to see is heart from these guys. You see it a lot in the wins and less in the losses. Certain players always have it and I have to single out Adams for being the best at that. I enjoy the scrappy players who aren't afraid to dive on the floor and give their all every possession. Unfortunately, number two on that list is Crouch, so I think it was really noticeable last night when he was gone just in that respect. I really think we get to some of those loose balls and make some of the layups if JC was out there.

Nobody can fault a team for trying their best even if they're outmatched. At least, I can't. And in the first half last night, I thought we played great and weren't even up at the break. But when a team plays sloppy, that is when it gets frustrating.

Which is why I think people need to vent about what they think is wrong. Andrews SHOULD play more under control, JJ DOES need to turn the ball over less, the team MUST play more cohesively to beat the better teams in the Valley (even at home).

When you see how good these guys can play, you can't help but raise your expectation level.

Bradley was beaten by a pretty good team last night. It's not like we just lost at home to Alcorn State or WIU.

I am not worried. This program is in good hands and headed in the right direction.
 
Personally I think its ok....I mean its inevitable so just debate opposite views and be secure in how YOU feel as an individual.

People used to BASH and I mean BASH Reggie Hall. Personally I LOVED the guy. It meant so much more to me to see him battle as a person through all the negativity to give it all he had. Was he a star....by no means...but he never "shot back" at the boo birds and just continued to play hard.

This team MAY play thursday nite in St Louis...this team MAY end up .500 or below but it is turning out to me a favorite of mine because they battle and do it the "right" way. I love em. The real test is yet to come though and its called adversity....I want to see how these guys handle it. If I had to guess they'll be OK...not happy but OK and won't give up.
 
Bradley fans are great and loyal fans. We have sat, I know we should stand KW, through good and bad years and still are among the leaders in attendance in the MVC. By the way, Parker is having a good game against the Suns tonight.
 
Admittedly, I was frustrated and disappointed like a lot of people. But, like others have said, the team is still exceeding my expectations. They play with a lot of heart, and I like that. A lot of people have unexpectedly stepped-up their game.

I mean, based on last year's performance, I didn't think Jeremy Crouch could grow to be the scoring monster that he is. He's also pretty good defensively for us. Danny Adams can just light it up. I don't quite remember him doing that last year. Matt Salley started off slow, but I think he's a solid player for us now.

I think debate is fine. It's kind of fun for me 'cause I like discussing strategy. But I think it's important to maintain a positive attitude through it all.
 
This team has played better then most fans expected and since they spoiled us expectations have gotten a little out of hand; I originally thought 16-17 wins then after a good start upped it to 18; thearea I was concerned with was our lack of size and the experience of the other conference teams ; Missouri state may be the best team in the league and we played them down to the wire without our leading scorer so losing to them is no time to panic ; what we need to do is start rebounding a lot better.
 
So much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Somehow I suspect there will be 10,000+ loyal Bradley fans at the next home game cheering and supporting their team like they always do.

Hey, if a couple losses are enough to send some fans into a terminal depression, let me know if you want to unload your tickets for future games.
 
Personally, I only get upset when I think we beat ourselves. That's what drew my ire last night. Not the missed 3's, and not even the rebounding as much as the 3 blown fast breaks. Those just drove me up the wall, and reminded me of 'old' Bradley that could do all the flash, but had none of the substance when it mattered. I know this group is good, and I think they're well above blowing fundamental fast breaks in a hotly contested conference game. I know this group is well-coached, and I am confident in the overall direction of the season and the program. It wasn't necessarily losing that burned me last night, it was more the way we lost.

This is strange phenomenon that is rising.
Everything nowadays is based on instant gratification, and people's opinions change overnite with the TV ratings and the presidential approval ratings.
I agree, all it takes is one game for people to either jump on a bandwagon or jump off a bridge.

Personally I think it shows the nature of the fan...
Many fans put their teams and their team-loyalty FIRST and stand by the team.
Others put themselves first and their desire to be a fan of a winning team. In the drop of a hat they throw the team the coach, and the players under the bus.

Just yesterday I went back and read this discussion from two years ago.
See if you feel like I did when I read it. There are actually people who wanted to dump Jim Les on the spot and start over, based on just a game or two.

I am fine with the results so far. Coach Les and the guys have done a great job. I predicted a .500 team, so this has been fun. I only hope Coach Les doesn't fall in love with playing 3-4 guards and continues to in the future. I got so sick of the 3 guard offense when Mo was here. I normally does not work consistently. Last year's sweet sixteen team had 2 guards, 2 forwards and a big center playing most of the time. I hope Les does not forget that playing big players is extremely important. With as many guards as he has recruited I am a bit worried that he is really liking a smaller and quicker lineup. If that is the case in the future (and I am not saying that it will be) I will be screaming mad...
 
I can assure you Bradley has not forgotten how nice it is to have a 7-foot center dominating the paint.
They are trying as hard as they can to get the big guys.

Yup- DePaul lost last night after a 5-game winning streak and moving into the polls as a team getting votes!
BUT-there's a suicide watch with threads titled:

"we lost, and the board thinks it's doomsday, what a surprise"
and
"Brutal"
and
"Example of why JW not great coach"


Pessimism abounds!

At the time those posts were written, I would not call them overreactive. We had just lost to Indiana State and were not in a postion to make the NIT let alone the NCAA. To his credit Coach Les turned it around and we had a great March as a result. I dont think the mentality now is nearly what it was then. Almost everyone acknowlodges that Coach Les is doing a good job, nobody is calling for his head. He simply doesnt have the horses this year. There hasnt been to much bashing or name calling. I dont think saying JJ needs to score more is bashing. Most fans I know are very happy with the direction of the program and most thought this would be "a down year" relavtive to last year. If we can stay out of Thursday and make the NIT that would be great IMO. I look to next year as the time we contend for a Valley title and go back to the dance.
 
I think we would have won Tuesday if we had Jeremy. He is such an important part of the team, that he will be missed in every game he doesn't play.
The team did well considering we were without our leading scorer (16 ppg), and one of the better defenders (leads the team in steals).

At that time, coming off the loss to Indiana St, Bradley's RPI was 70 (with a SOS of 67) - I'd say that would be consideration for the NIT.
