How surprised?

It's obvious the team is learning Geno's system after the first year, much like it took the the Braves to get used to the Albeck system in the 80's. Nobody I know, no matter how hard some try to imply, is against Geno. We do have a tougher schedule ahead than we have had already. Let's hope the guys can pull off a couple upsets.

I agree. Let's see if we can steal one or both of UNI and Evansville at home, one or both at Drake and MSU, and a split against ISU red. If we can win 4 of these 6, that would be a good accomplishment, though I'm not giving up on the game at Evansville or the home game against Indiana St. either.

Albeck had one heck of a team to work with. Too bad he was not a good recruiter.

I find this whole thing to be a hoot! :lol::lol:

Got to kill some time, some how, in between BU's next big win over EU on the road! Why not stir the pot with some flammable posts on BF.com?

After all, posting picks in the 2012-13 MVC Regular Season Game Pick Em Contest here on BF.com only takes up so much of one's time....

I mean, how hard can it be? Just flip a penny! ;);)

No offense intended THE PENNY...:lol::lol:

(shameless plug for the MVC Pick Em Contest)

True, but it took that team a year to get used to his NBA style of run and gun. Went to his first game as BU coach up in Ann Arbor and even with all the talent that team had we got beat bad, giving up over 100 that game and if I remember right the next 2 games out in California also. Saw Stan on the elevator later that evening after the Michigan game. He ask us if we saw a particular game on tv that night which was another high scoring game. He said "that's my kind of game." Told him we found that out last night.

Not sure if you're only talking about starters or not with this last statement. If so, then I don't know if we'll be better than this year or not. Guess I'll have to see the 2 transfers in game situations.

Replacing Jake and DSE with Fields and Grier is probably a draw at this point and only a draw because of moving Walt out of the point guard spot. Prosser does not even come close to giving us what Egolf does!

Shaun,
Hard to argue with what you say. I guess I am hoping TP is better as a senior than as a junior. Same theory with WL. I also went back and looked at WE's junior year and that wasn't too impressive. He made quite an improvement between his junior and senior years. JP on the other hand has been worse this year year compared to his sophmore year. Hopefully JP can step it up too next year.

I believe having a natural point gaurd will help a lot. As will having a gaurd who can shoot the three (JE has been much better lately).

I also think having a deeper rotation will help a whole lot. Especially from mid-January on. Of course the third year with Geno's system should help a little too along with not relying on newcomers. The two new gaurds will have been practicing with the team for over a year, obviously.

One of our last scholarships may go to someone who ends up starting.

I guess I didn't do a real good job of defending my position because mostly it is just a bunch of specutlation on my part. I just think all the positives will outweigh the negatives of losing our three starting seniors.

I guess time will tell.

He may have been too nice of a guy. He always found the time to speak with the fans. I remember talking to him when they first hired him down at the Lucky Lady. You would never have found DV there.

Thanks DC. His thoughts, syntax and writing style just seems so familiar... I really thought he was a friend of mine... Back from the dead, if you will. ;)

That's odd, I had the same thought. This kind of reminds me of a TV show back in the day.....

I am as real as the fallout that IS happening. Sorry to disappoint, boys.

ok.. I guess some people don't want to look up our record to see a Bradley team that is 4-3 in conference play and 12-7 overall. Some people see fallout, I have seen progress this year. To each their own I guess. 8);-)

When people have an agenda the facts don't matter

If we are comparing this year to last year, yes, we are better. But if we are comparing where this program is at now compared with prior to the coaching change, we are not even close yet.

I'll ask the same question I have asked a couple others, and nobody seems willing to answer- which one of our wins is the best win in your opinion?
I think some people are smart enough to see past the simplicity of just reading wins and losses in a season when we played one of the weakest schedules we have played in decades.
Even the MVC is weaker this season than in most years since 2000, and the only teams we have beaten so far are the 3 worst teams- Missouri State (RPI 245), Drake (RPI 166), and SIU twice (RPI 197).
Maybe some people are celebrating that improvement, but I think the thousands of missing fans are waiting to see us beat better teams.

How is 12-7 thus far not better than JL last year where he left us?

By the way..... The same fallout could be talked about when Mo was fired. With Granger who knows how good we could have been

Bradley played a much tougher schedule in 2010-2011 (SOS 145 vs. 242 this year), plus you would like to ignore the fact that JL's top 2 players were not available to him that year. He still won 12 games. How many games would Bradley have won this year without Will and Walt?

I find it funny that some of the same fans that complained and were unhappy with 20+ win seasons 4 years in a row, and upper half MVC finishes every year, are now giddy about beating the bottom dwellers in the MVC by the narrowest of margins.

Will someone answer the question- who have we beaten this year? What win are you most proud of?

I'm proud of all the wins. I don't know that anyone is giddy. Some think we are on the right track but obviously you and others don't That's fine. Everyone is waiting to see how it all turns out so they can say I told you so

You know... I liked JL. I even wanted to see JL given one more year here to see what could be done with the recruits to go along with the rest of the team we had. But, I was getting sick of seeing us run the archaic weave, running out on the floor a 3,4, or even a 5 guard offense and wonder why we couldn't rebound, sitting JP during long stretches in the second half of the UNI game where we could have used him, and really tired of seeing JL pick up technical fouls towards the end of a game in situations that killed any chance for us to win! When during the JL era did we have an immediate contribution from a JUCO player? It didn't happen very often after the Sweet 16 season. We have no doubt played a softer schedule and I have no problem with that. But, remember, two years ago we lost to QUINCY in a pre season game. Let's move forward and embrace the improvement that we have noticed since last year.

Lefty, please don't state my opinions for me. I am happy to see the improvement we have seen. But to suggest that we are vastly improved just because of the number of wins is shortsighted, would you agree? And to compare this year with last year and imply or state that this shows the improvement over Jim Les is silly. Jim Les was not here last year.
