How surprised?

Are you trying to compare Blaine Taylor's situation to Les's?

Taylor's Resume @ODU

- 12 seasons, not 8 (this is his twelfth)
- postseason in each of last 8 years (4 NCAA's)
- 20+ wins in 7 of 11 completed seasons (average of 24 through all 11 years)
- Finished 4th or better in CAA 9 out of 11 years. (last 9 in a row)

At a program like ODU this is god-like....they have only been around 37 years (EDIT: in Division I).

Les did nothing even close to this at a program with a much more storied past.

You are correct about the number of seasons he is there. Maybe I need new glasses! :D

You are also correct that he has a better resume than Les. I won't comment on any injury issues he has gone through during his time there since I don't know about them. But he did get better results than Les did during his time there. So I agree there are differences, though I think Les would have had at least a couple of much better seasons if not for the injuries his players went through. Blaine probably got more out of his players, though I don't how good his recruits were compared to Les's recruits, or as I said earlier, any injury issues. But Les still did a lot of good things for our program as well, and that was one of my points.

Yea, mine does not understand my passion. She's against me spending my free time on the internet when I should be listening to her.

What? Does she think she has more info. for you that Bradleyfans does not???

Well, she may have some important things to discuss with you.
Maybe she's got some inside info. on recruiting for the Braves. (???)

Take some time to listen and try not to tune out sentences that don't contain "Braves", "basketball", or "Lemon's Buzzer-Beater". :-D

And don't mix up PMS with MVP.

Here are another couple questions I'll ask to put things in perspective-

What was the best game Bradley has played so far?
and
What was Bradley's best win?

Here are the wins so far-
Team..............D1 Record..RPI
Eastern IL..........4-15.......298
Texas Pan-Am....7-10.......290
IUPUI................4-16.......281
Tenn. Martin......2-15.......314
Cent. Michigan....8-8........158
Geo. Washington..8-9.......157
Georgia Southern..6-11.....254
Miss. Valley St.....2-14......326
Drake.................7-10......166
So. Illinois...........7-10......197
So. Illinois...........7-10......197
Missouri St..........3-14......245

No team we've beaten has a winning record vs. D1, and none have RPI's better than 157.
According to record it might be Central Michigan, since that was on the road and against a team that has the best record (8-8 vs. D1). GWU has the best RPI.

Since Drake now has a win over a top20 team, I'll go with Drake.

I didn't count on us winning at anybody's place. Tonight is proof that it's really hard to win on the road in this league.

Well, if we still intend on getting to 7 or 8 Valley wins, we better find a way to get at least one more road win somewhere, be it at Drake, Missouri St. or Illinois St. I highly doubt it will happen in Normal, so we better split the Drake, Missouri St. games.

We certainly need to win on the road. I just don't count on where it's going to happen.:D

Was busy doing something else at the time and couldn't figure out a good way to word it. Anyways.....there is one good TEAM and one good player on another team keeping this conference even respectable at the moment.

That's an interesting debate. I'd argue that there are 2 good teams and plenty of good players. There's probably only one great player in the league, but then again, there are only so many first team all-Americans in the country.

one thing - as bad as we played - we were still in position to win this game in the final 6-8 minutes...
..we all know we have the capability to play a bit better - clearly we have the potential to finish in the upper half of the Valley.
..every team beyond the #3 spot has an RPI of a 100 or more - we have to beat those teams...

I have heard a number of Bradley fans say they were disappointed that we decided to use both of the 2 open scholarships last spring on transfers instead of players who could help us this season. Many fans felt this team needed a juco shooting guard badly. Now we are seeing the effects of the lack of a reliable shooting guard. Bradley is 4-4, and might be 5-3 or even 6-2 if we had better outside shooting. We saw what juco shooting guard Richard Carter did last night in almost single-handedly beating Creighton, and juco transfers like Cleanthony Early, Tyler Brown, Anthony Downing, and Jeff Early are all key players helping their teams, and in the top 20 in scoring in the MVC.
Especially this year, when it seems that other than CU and WSU the rest of the league is mediocre, maybe we would have had a chance at 20 wins, and 3rd or 4th place, and a possible NIT bid. Geno would be a shoe-in for COY.

OK how many guys here thought we would be doing as well with what we have? I sure as heck did not. I have always been about year 3 and 4 with GF. I expect to see market improvement next year so I'm hardly going to ride him or the team for this year's performance. We'll most probably have our PG for next season and hopefully a shooter with one of the other 2 recruits. We still have two other scholarships open which we'll need someone to step up and play the 5. Until I hear that we have exhausted that avenue I'm staying quite positive. If one thing is for sure as in taxes and death, recruits are never a sure thing.
