I dont blame the coaching

So you acknowledge that is wrong, yet you do it anyway.

We're 8 years in with nothing close to a league title or even a top 3 league finish. We're burgeoning on the most losses at Carver Arena since the end of the Albeck and Molinari eras. Should anyone be held accountable? I don't think the frustration is about this game or even this year, but rather the 8 years of this quality of basketball. So again I ask, who should be held accountable? If you have an answer, please tell me.

No, but seriously, I agree. This is 8 years of this now.

But the team is not winless. He clearly gets MUCH more credit for the losses than any wins! I guess I'm the only one that can see that though.

Do you want a sing a long and parade for the home win against Indiana St or the sweep of Evansville? He got plent of credit in 05/06 and 06/07 he hasnt deserved much since or before.

Well we will have only one more year of Les for sure now. I think Coach Versace pointed to the difference in coaching mentallity/style. He talked about how Les should be firing the team up but during the time out you see Les with that sad mad face. Whatever Les is doing at Half-time he needs to stop. We always come out flat. Whatever he is doing isn't working and more of the same isn't working either.

I am not sure how much he deserves all the blame but none-the-less it is time for everyone's benefit for us to move on. After this year and most likely more of the same next year we will be ready for a change. The program will need a kick start to keep the fans and supporters committed.

I know I need to feel like something is changing because I am starting to lose interest or belief/faith all of the above!

You're right........JL got all the credit in the world when we beat one of the best teams in the Big 10. Sorry, I'm not going to buy any claim that JL gets just as much credit for wins as he does losses.

I have no idea. I'm just a fan who hopes we win the next game. I don't claim to know who is responsible for what. If JL is not good enough, I'm sure people who know far more than you or me will make that decision. I don't claim to know more than I do.

Neither do I.

I know we need something different!

No, I think you're one of the few that thinks that though. I think people were pretty excited that this could be 'the year' we had been waiting for after we beat the Illini. I think everyone got credit and the faithful were pretty optimistic about what the year could be. The letdown from that, added to more or less 7 years of average to below average basketball is starting to get to some people.

Gotta ask - Did you feel the same way about Molinari, or is this just because Jim was a good player 25 years ago?

Unfortunately I think Lakeview is being too kind. I will agree that it wasn't prepping or gameplanning that lost this, but when your entire philosophy is seemingly devoid of the fundamental concept in basketball, which is get big men you can throw ball inside to, and throw it into them, well there's not much I can defend when it comes to the staff. Sure, they guys played hard. They played their b@lls off. Effort isn't something that's generally been an issue. But enough is enough. The personnel we have now isn't as a result of a guy going to the NBA early. We just flat out failed recruiting-wise. Failed. And when you fail, someone has to pay the price. This is a failure. Spin all you want, make all the excuses you want, it's an epic failure. 5 home losses with 3 home games to play. Failure.
