I just caught it out of the side of my eye

I admit I am one of those who is still bitter about the Jim Les firing but you have to wonder if Mooney would have ended up at Bradley if Jim was here when he graduated high school

I have heard that Jim Les wanted Matt Mooney at UC Davis, and Tom urged him to go there. But Matt committed to Air Force. He left Air Force after his first year due to alleged "bullying" issues and transferred to South Dakota.

He developed into a star player there for 2 seasons, then had the opportunity to move up (to Texas Tech) as a grad transfer. So it is not out of the question that he might have landed at Bradley if Jim was still here in 2014 (the year Mooney graduated HS) or 2015 (the year he transferred to So. Dakota). Mooney did not have any other offers, other than Air Force before then.

Jim did land his younger brother Joe Mooney, who will be a senior next season at UC Davis, and who has developed into a pretty good player, too.

caution- that chicagotribune link above froze my computer twice requiring reboot - and Trib links have done that before - so beware
..in fact - seems like a lot of "newspaper" links do that...
PJStar is one of the worst, which is why I virtually never go there and don't post links to their site

if you do want to read that Trib story about the bullying at Air Force
then use this cached link that will not connect you to the Tribune web site

Speaking of Jim Les, Virginia star freshman point guard Kihei Clark was originally a Cal Davis recruit before de-committing to play for Tony Bennett and UVA. Talk about a hard pill to swallow if you're Cal Davis.
