DeAndre Miranda finished up his juco career at Central Florida Community College in Ocala, FL. He averaged 10.2 ppg, and 5.3 rpg his soph year.
He had offers from TCU, Wyoming, and Stonybrook, according to articles on www.JucoJunction.com . I have not seen any mention yet what school he will be attending.

I don't know about Wires and Nicholson, but saw then playing at RiverPlex in the Summer league.
DeAndre Miranda was looking at a couple D-I schools, but seems to have dropped off the charts. I can't find a thing on him.

In doing some digging, I found that former Indiana State commit Norman Wells is now enrolled at John A. Logan junior college, and former Proviso East player Jeremiah Wise, who was recruited and went to Indiana State, then transferred and was a walk on at Illinois, is now at Kankakee Community College, as is Montrel (sometimes spelled Monterale) Clark who Bradley was recruiting.

Lastly, Lennox Forrester has picked up another player for his roster at SIU-E.

TJ Gray has left UIC and transferred to SIU-E. Gray holds the UIC season record for 3-pointers (90), had played two seasons (freshman and soph) at WIU before transferring to UIC where he played only one year, starting 9 games and playing in 30 games, averaging 11.1 ppg. He also holds the WIU freshman record for 3 pointers and 3 point shooting pct.
He is originally from Champaign Central although he played one year at Chicago Julian.

Re: DeAndre Miranda

I just checked the incoming recruits for Wyoming, TCU, and Stonybrook (the 3 schools which had offered DeAndre Miranda), and he is not listed among those recruits. So apparently he has not committed anywhere, or perhaps he has not fully qualified.

I suppose this ICC team will be able to beat BU too, just like last year's could (according to some very misguided people).

No doubt whoever they pick as their starting five would be able to beat the Bradley starting five.

Yea - according to those 'misguided' folks... their perceptions based on opinions are just as good as perceptions based on facts... therefore, their perceptions are true.

I still remember "some" of those very prognosticators who are ISU fans proclaiming that Najeeb Echols would have a better career and would be a better player than Marcellus Sommerville.
And Da Coach, wasn't there even a guy last season who labelled Daniel Ruffin the 8th best point guard in the Valley and (seriously) claimed there were 7 different kids in the league he'd take ahead of DRuff?

Yes, it's true. One message board poster's opinion from a year ago was that there were 7 point guards in the Valley who he would take ahead of Daniel Ruffin. Ruff was the only one of these who was in the Top 15 in the league in scoring.
He named these 7 as ahead of DR-
Al Stewart - Drake
Brian Mullins - SIU
Josh Dotzler - Creighton
Boo Richardson - ILSU
Gabe Moore- INSU
Jason Holsinger - Evansville
Brooks McKowen - UNI

the reason DR was probably thought of that way was the fans were either ISU fans and really have trouble understanding BB or they were from the Wayne (still asst coach @ UI) McClain is the better coach mentallity and really can't stand Jim (sweet 16, NIT and 44 wins the last 2 seasons) Les. Show me 3, no 2, well actually show me 1 PG in the conf who can outplay DR, as right now I haven't seen even 1. My own opinion is that even last year he was the best in the MVC

As I have made clear here, I agree with this. I don't think it was even close. Ruffin excelled in every area offensively and defensively last year. The MVC had some very good guards, but DR was the best.

By the way-- it appears that most of the media and coaches of the MVC agreed. Here are the 1st team, 2nd team, and honorable mention team from 2006-2007. And note that the only 2 point guards named to any of the 3 teams were Daniel Ruffin and Will Franklin. So it appears that the only MVC player even close to Daniel was his own teammate, Will. None of the other 7 very good point guards mentioned made any of the All-MVC teams.--

so was last year the year of the big man in the Valley?

That's a good question, but as far as this year goes I believe that the league will be a lot more guard/perimeterer oriented. Granted Coleman and Falker will get their points, but Shaw isn't a typical big man in that he plays farther out from the basket and has good range, and Watts is far from dominating. As for us, I think that the post players are our biggest question mark. Not knowing what is happening with Matt Salley, that leaves Sam, and a bunch of new comers. I think guards are going to play a much bigger role this year.

T,
Maybe lewis LLoyd or Xavier Mc Daniel? Or Larry?
Wing

?? wing, not sure what you are hinting.

One kid who was a juco transfer in the Big Ten a couple years ago made quite an impact, Vincent Grier.
It doesn't happen too often but once in a while a juco kid has a pretty significant impact.

One thing to consider is the point guards may have different outcomes for different teams. DR was at the top of PG's last year for sure but style of play and how well teamates play have somethoing to do with that as well. There are some fine players in the above list
