IHSA Tournament games

Heard from some reliable sources that we are recruiting the big man from West. I would agree that he will get some nice offers but as I watched
he reminded me of Childs. In saying that I was referring to his inside game which looked fantastic. The big question will be if he develops an outside shot otherwise he will be much better suited for mid-major colleges.
Basketball nut if your talking about E J Liddell trust me he'll not be going to a mid-major. I predict he will be 1st or 2nd in the Mr. Basketball voting. I had the opportunity to talk to him Thur night at the banquet and he already has numerous offers including Illinois and Kansas St. Very nice young man and a Cub fan to boot.

I am guessing Ayo Dosunmu will get the Mr. Basketball, mainly because he is a senior and had more hype throughout the year. But I like Liddell better, and he might have impressed enough late to swing the vote to him.
But I don't see Liddell going to Missouri. So far, I can't find anyone reporting that Missouri is recruiting him.

surprised Cam Burrell gets so little press...he looks like a solid midmajor guy along the likes of a Donte Thomas or a Phil Fayne

I liked Burrell also. Did not hear much recruiting info on him which surprised me. Not much of an outside game but very affective around the basket. Only reason I said Liddell may end up at Missouri is word was Mark Smith may end up there. Cunzo being from E. St Louis likes the kids from that area and E.J. is only a Jr. and may just be the best player in the state right now.

Illinois, along with Kansas State, has been after Liddell since his freshman year, when they first offered him a scholarship. And shortly after Missouri hired Martin in April, the Tigers offered Liddell and have been in constant contact.

Martin and assistant coach Chris Hollender have been regulars at Liddell??™s games and text him whenever the recruiting calendar allows it. Hollender cracks him up with a funny video or joke whenever he checks in with Liddell.

As for Martin, he sends Liddell motivational passages that he regularly reads, and Liddell said Martin has told him he could be a positionless player in Missouri??™s system

???He tells me how it is,??? Liddell said of Martin. ???He??™s truthful. He cares about the person and where they get in life.???

E.J. Liddell: The recently named Gatorade Player of the Year for Illinois is considered to be a high Missouri priority for the 2019 class. The Belleville, Ill., resident was watched by Martin on Tuesday as he went for 20 points in a win over Quincy to advance his team in the sectional tournament. Illinois is another school that wants Liddell, but Martin and Hollender have been regulars at his games as well. Liddell and McKinney have been best friends since elementary school and a commit from one could heavily influence the other.

That makes sense, since Martin, and even Kim Anderson before him, focused a lot on the kids from the Illinois side of the St. Louis area.

Most of the recruiting sites, including some pay sites, don't show Missouri in the list of recruiting schools.
But maybe they are just a little outdated like Verbalcommits.com. They are usually pretty good, but they still have Liddlell listed as a 2-star recruit-
