I actually think the author, Bob Sakamoto, is flattering Illinois by suggesting they were still on Shumpert's list, when Shumpert personally had said they were eliminated over 3 weeks ago.
But Iman Shumpert still has to try to politely answer why he isn't considering Illinois. The kid maintains his class, though I don't see why he should have to explain himself.

That makes it all so much clearer now. Let me translate (I speak Iman): ACC and then ACC but ACC and only if ACC, then I would go to the ACC.
