Indiana State at Illinois State

Talking about teams you don't want to see in St Louis... I'm adding ISU-Blue to the list. Yikes - won at UNI and ISU-red!

Only 1 reason that isu red lost this one, the whopping 10 missed free throws. The 16 rebound advantage made up for it a little bit but championship teams make their free throws.

Oh my god, I didn't even watch this game thinking it would be an ISU red blowout. What a mess this conference is this year! Well, we still have a legitimate shot at third play if we can just find a way to win another road game or two.

This is why no matter how bad we looked yesterday I cannot write off this game at Creighton. I think Les should use tonight's game as a motivating factor that anyone can win anywhere, anytime! Of course a lot revolves on a great shooting night, but it is possible. If we can get 11 wins, that may be enough for an NIT appearance. We just have to get off the snide some how.

Oh, does Marshall become the new "Snidely Whiplash" of Indiana St? Remember how Mitch Holtus always called Royce Waltman Snidely Whiplash when his team kept upsetting the top teams in 2006? I think Marshall will now fit that role nicely! :D

That was crazy. 8 straight possessions with a made 3-pt basket. ISUred really didn't do that much wrong - any of those 8 don't go and ISUred wins in either regulation or OT. In fact, I feel sorry for IS....

Oh wait, this is Illinois St.

Never mind

I turned the game off with about 4 minutes left when ISU red was up 12. I can't believe they lost this game. I guess they got UNI'd like we did. 6 made threes by ISU blue in the last 4 minutes including 5 made threes in the last 2:30 of the game. Crazy.

you think??
it's a single win for a last place team over an overrated opponent who was ripe for an upset--
especially missing many key FTs......and here's what the guy says...

"I was geeked because being able to chronicle games like that are what I live for
I could run on the juice from a game like that for a few weeks.

That was an ???I was there, when ??¦??? game you cherish having watched,

.....this might be the best ISU win I??™ve covered...I think this is one is the best..
I??™ve never seen anything like that, certainly not from a team on the road.
And I still can??™t get to sleep."
(the emphasis was the author's!!)

I don't think it matters where they are in the standings....any team would be excited winning a game that way.

What gets me is Indst looked so bad here it's hard to believe they can even compete much less win at UNI and ISU

Agreed. Heck, I was excited for the Sycamores and I don't even like the city of Terre Haute.

I get excited when Bradley wins a road game on a last second shot in OT. I remember how excited I was when Rob Dye hit the game winner at ISU. I think I floated out of Redbird Arena.

Nothing wrong with this blogger getting excited. Good for the Sycamores and their fans. I think many of us would be geeked if Sam M. hits an OT game winner at the buzzer in Omaha on Wednesday. I certainly know I would be.
