Insight

I think Insight has got to be the worse in production of live events. Everytime I watch a Bradley game on there, it has some flaw, whether it be loss of signal, no audio, picture not clear, etc. I hope Bradley doesn't have Insight next year.

I would take Insight in a Heartbeat. You want to talk about bad cable companies ask me about MediaCom sometime. At least you have a bad production to watch. MediaCom customers in Chillicothe do not get the Bradley games despite being told we would on channel 78 need I mention that MediaCom in Chillicothe does not offer any HD programming whatsoever.

I duno if you guys are talking about tonight's broascast or not, but tonight was not an Insight broadcast. BU bought the feed from Lakeshore Public Television which broadcasts Loyola games. This game wasn't even part of the original tv package so I'd say it's a pretty sweet deal that the BU Athletic and Marketing Departments are doing all they can to broadcast as much BU basketball as possible.

Thank god for directv.... Although mediacom would never be available where I live... darn.

I agree. I was just happy the game was on. And...I don't know about everyone else, but my roommate and I enjoyed making fun of the announcers all game. It provided some entertainment at least.

The online broadcast was unwatchable 75% of the time. I'm going to slingbox it soon.

Same here.

I loved the comparison of that one guy to Tayshaun Prince.

As well as the constant references to TW being able to "jump out of the gym."

I urge you to come to Carbondale and try out MediaCom for a couple months. Terrible signals, loss of channels all the time and TERRIBLE service. Plus I'm stuck watching Saluki athletics all the time...I've been trying to get a new HD box for 3 months now.

I've yet to see a BU game on Insight, but I've heard gripes about their broadcasts from some friends back home.

First off, I love that insight stepped up and is at least trying to broadcast the games for BU fans.

But why is it so hard to send the signal through without problems. 1 game we missed the entire 1st half, although I was at that game, last night was a joke with the No Signal line, the Channel 0 unavailable line, and the constant black screens. I mean why do my 200+ other channels come through just fine, but the BU game is constantly screwed up. For a company the size of Insight, one wouldn't think it present that big of a challenge to send the signal through.

The Horizon feed last night was perfect all night long.

I really did not think the two announcers were horrible. They were atleast somewhat informed and really were complimentary towards our players and program. They were not any worse then the two that CSTV put out there for the Iowa game.

We have had some very questionable announcers of our own on the TV over the years, or should I say a very questionable x athletic director who was a brutal as they come when it came to announcing.

Yeah, but at least that x athletic director was as entertaining as they come while announcing the games. You never knew what he was going to say, and apparently niether did WEEK.:)

The last commercial of the night before they went back to regular programing after the game. there was for an 8 pack of BU tiks. It had great background music with dramatic in game and pre-game photos with captions and no voice over. Did any else notice the great production work. Nice work by someone. Is it online anywhere?

The big question is when Comcast takes over Jan. 1 will they do a better job and to get these games broadcasted in the chicago market will they put them on satellite along with cable?

Hey, it could have been worst ... it could have been carried by the NFL Network!!!

I was fortunate to be able to go to the Cowboys - Packer tilt Thursday night, so I didn't watch the game on the NFL Network. But, I heard Bryant Gumbel was awful. Among his gaffes:
He referred to Tony Romo as Rick Romo
He confused sponsor names
He referred to Cowboys running back Marion Barber as the heartbeat of Green Bay's offense
and several more

The NFL is about as good as it comes to branding and marketing, I can't believe that they would keep Gumbel as the play-by-play announcer as this isn't the first game he has botched for the NFL Network.
