Hmmm....I wonder if it'll be held in the arena or more likely on the Mitchell JJ Anderson court...
....This is a great opportunity for the team to match up against a team with some size...they have 6-8, 6-8, 6-9, 6-9, 6-11, 6-11!!
(including ex-Saluki Anthony Booker who is listed as 6-9!, and former Big ten player Royce White)

BTW -- here's a video about Iowa State's intra-squad scrimmage...

Pretty cool that my alma mater team ISU will scrimmage my adopted team BU....

As a junior at Ia State in 1975, I had a chance, along with my fraternity team mates, to play a basketball game vs ISU Junior Varsity team (back when they still had junior varsity teams). The ISU Jr Varsity opponent, Nebraska JV, was snowed out, and the Atheltic Dept needed a team to play ISU JV as the lead in game to the evening Varsity match. On the day of the game, our fraternity was asked if we could play that evening and we said YES!

Our fraternity put a team together and we played the ISU JV in the new ISU Hilton Coliseum. We had Big 8 officials, road ISU varsity jerseys, PA Announcers and by the end of our game, almost 14,000 people watching who were waiting for the Varsity game! A George Plimpton moment.

Needless to say we got crushed, by over 50 pts. I didn't play HS Basketball, being a football and baseball player in HS, but did contribute one field goal, one rebound, and one blocked shot in my limited court time. I had the time of my life!

What was funny was most in the arena audience didn't realize ISU JV weren't playing NU JV. Iowa State road jerseys look similar to Nebraska jerseys. The talk on campus the following day was how bad the NU JV Team was!

Interesting tie in to BU...Guess who the ISU JV Center was we played against? Big Alex Mazeika 6'11", who later transferred to BU.

Yes, Tom Prusator of Kewanee, Illinois was actually Bradley's first 7-footer.

He played at Bradley for 2 seasons from 1977-1979.

Here is the online version of Bradley's All-Time roster-

And the recently updated BU History page, with a lot of information that was previously hard to find like all-time roster, alll-time numerical roster, retired numbers, and past awards -

Good to know others have adopted BU as their team too, like me. It's amazing how you just cling to a college team without going there.
I had a choice early in life to root for the ISU 'Birds or Bradley - living somewhere between both schools. I went to many rivalry games in the mid-late '80's. My parents both graduated from ISU (red), but it didn't hold onto me. I started really following BU hoops in the early '90's and there was something about those team that got me hooked for good. I was a big Coach Mo supporter, having gone to IWU. Even my years living in Florida couldn't keep me from avidly following the Braves. Glad I'm a little closer now in Chi-town. Just a special, classy program through the years. Just want this year to be a breakthrough season - we've only had a couple truly special seasons in the past 2 decades.

As most fans here know, the NCAA does not allow spectators at these closed scrimmages, and they do not allow schools to divulge to the public any details about the scrimmage or the results. Bradley takes this NCAA rule very seriously, and cannot afford to have the NCAA think they are breaking this rule. So unless some information leaks out from the Iowa State board, unfortunately we will not expect to get any information about this scrimmage here.

Wonder how long the NCAA ban on schools/players/others talking about closed scrimmage results lasts?

Once a season starts?

Until the end of the season?

Forever?

That means one of Fred Hoiberg's eligible players won't be able to play, and he might have to play some of his transfers, who are not eligible to play this season.
If Iowa State utilizes all their redshirting transfers, they could be a pretty good team to scrimmage against. Only Darion "Jake" Anderson, a post-graduate transfer from Northern Illinois, will be eligible to play this season for Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg. The other transfers, Royce White (from Minnesota and pending an appeal to be ruled eligible this season), Chris Babb (from Penn State), Chris Allen (from Michigan), Anthony Booker (from SIU), and John Lamb (from Morehead State) all would be allowed to participate in the scrimmage I believe, but will have to sit out the regular season before they are eligible to play next season.

I would think he would want to prepare his team for the season, and thus I doubt the transfers would play much.

Here is Iowa State's roster- quite a few freshman along with new juco transfer Phillips who is now injured.-

I didn"t think transfer players were allowed to participate in off campus events.

These closed scrimmages are not defined by the NCAA as an "event", but as a practice. I am not familiar with all the NCAA rules, so I don't know whether the transfers are eligible. I would think Iowa State would rather not use them since it serves no purpose for this season.

they might be inclined to use them as they would a walk on in order to assure they have enough manpower, not to mention that they do want the transfers practicing..

Here's a list of other closed scrimmages...

Anyone that hears any comments on tomorrows scrimmage post it, the thing I am most curious about is whether Will,Sammy and Taylor play as we need these guys to be able to practice in order for everyone on the team to be able to play together.

It is unlikely we will hear anything. There will be a minimum of people present at the scrimmage, and all of them will be sworn to secrecy about it.
