From the Pantagraph.........
"Thankfully, the horn went off to end Saturday night??™s game at Redbird Arena.
It was needed to wake up those in the crowd of 4,094 who dozed off"

4094 might have been a bit generous as large swaths of even the prime lower bowl seats were empty.

Even adding their Friday and Saturday night attendance together, they are still well below BU's Saturday night alone!

This can't be a reflection on the team. This is a very good ISU basketball team and Eldridge is a 'once in a decade' type player. I don't understand why they do not support their Division I basketball program. Absolutely no sense of community in Bloomington - Normal. Yet another example of the 'Bloomington Beige'

I think it was because the game was played on a Saturday night over Thanksgiving break.

Maybe its because they are playing craptastic basketball teams?

Play someone of worth and maybe you will have some people wanting to show up.

Didn't they have a good showing of fans last year against Cincinnati?

Even though teams like that can not be scheduled all the time, if they scheduled some decent mids they should be able to draw.

Yes they had a good crowd for Cincy and St. Johns (played them 2 years ago I believe). Even though they were really bad Cincy and St. John's teams.. they are a NAME program. Winston Salem State? That screams good game!!!!

Exactly...

Because when I think talent and huge draw, I think Nicholls State and Morehead State!

Ha, ha....talk about blind and naive...

East Tennesse State - RPI 85

Nicholls State - RPI 235
Morehead State - RPI 338 (out of 343)
Wright State - RPI 336
Houston Baptist - RPI 339
Winston Salem - RPI 255

nice try.....but the opponents for ISU are in a whole different RPI-universe from BU's opponents.

See the thread about BU's upcoming opponent being the 31 RPI and #1 SOS team!

Might want to study your basketball history Redbird fan and shaunguth. ETSU has a very rich basketball history and tradition. Granted, they're NO Bradley. But they outshine isu historically, IMHO.

I'm talking about the casual fan.....the ones that help fill 9,000 seats. To them, I doubt ETSU is much of a basketball tradition.

Even a greater credit to the great fans of Bradley basketball. They still draw over 9,000 for a non-conference game against a non-regional opponent that few fans know anything about.
Those are all the excuses the isu faithful are using for the woefully low turnout for their 7-0 team.

I guess ISU will probably be awful then since they can only beat bad teams... you better sweep them or it will be a bad loss...

And does it really matter if you play good teams and lose to them? Just wondering...

Don't forget the most important one........the Saturday night game over Thanksgiving break!

It matters much more than beating a bunch of nobody's...

ISU will have to win the tournament to get in the NCAA's no doubt about that!

And really...comparing ETSU to Morehead State? Thats not very logical...especially considering the RPI difference...

ISU could win 14 conference games and still have trouble getting in because of the Cupcake U schedule....

I mean we haven't seen a schedule this poor since looking at the schedules Calhoun puts out at UConn...

Maybe Jank is trying to pad his resume to haul *ss outta town, who knows, but getting the NCAA's attention w/ wins over Winston Salem (i thought it was a cigarette and not a school) and Nicholls State just isn't going to get positive press...
