Some very interesting statistics regarding Indiana State and their 3-point shooting...
Indiana State was the #1 team in the country in 3-point FG%, shooting over 41% until 2 weeks ago. After winning the overtime game against Bradley on January 27 (they were 12-29, 41.4% in that game against BU), they have dropped off significantly, and are now 12th in 3-point FG% at 38.4% as a team.
That is still pretty good, but it is a big drop-off for a team that was the best 3-point shooting team in the country all season until 2 weeks ago.
Prior to the last 2 weeks and their last 5 games, Indiana State was 247-602 from three for a 41.0% three point FG%.
But in their last 5 games, they are just 46-162 (28.4%)
Here are their 3-point shooting performances in the last 2 weeks-
1/31 @ Belmont- 10-30 (33.3%)
2/3 vs. Drake- 7-30 (23.3%)
2/7 vs. Valpo- 9-24 (37.5%)
2/10 @ Missouri St.- 12-40 (30.0%)
2/13 vs. ILL. State- 8-38 (21.1%)
Total over the last 5 games- 46-162 (28.4%)
That is the worst 3-point FG% of any MVC team during that period. Really strange, considering they were the best 3-point shooting team in the country all season, until after they played Bradley 2+ weeks ago. I guess you might say Bradley broke them.

Indiana State getting worn down as the season goes on is my guess. Maybe the Bradley OT game really wore them out?
They lack the depth already, not to mention Kent just got hurt. They might be in some serious trouble going forward if their bench can't step up. They might drop another game or two. I think they'll struggle in St. Louis with their lack of depth, and their at-large resume just took a big hit with this Quad 4 loss.

I think their legs are getting tired as you mentioned. I've watched a few of their games and they don't look as polished in the last 3. Avila looked frustrated and tired in the Missouri State game. Maybe all those extended minutes during their blowout games are starting to catch up with them. 3 wins in 3 days is hard for anyone but when your top 5 are playing 30+ mpg and your next two are 17 and 10 mpg it's a loooooong weekend.

Indiana State was leading the country in 3-point shooting percentage for most of this season, but in each of the last 6 games they have seen their season 3-point shooting percentage drop. In yesterday's loss to SIU, they shot 7-25 from three (28.0%).
