Henry completes the four-man Bradley recruiting class as he joins junior transfer Chudier Bile and freshmen Ari Boya and Armon Brummett as the newest Braves.

"This recruiting class, physically and athletically, is the most gifted my staff and I have signed at Bradley," Wardle said. "Their length, explosiveness and versatility complements our returning players really well. They all have areas that they need to improve in, but if they are committed to our program standards and expectations, it is going to be a fun ride!"

This is great news! What a great recruiting class Coach Wardle and staff! Can't wait for the season to start!!
 
This coaching staff has clearly demonstrated their ability to find talent that other schools have not found. The pleasant problem facing the coaching staff this fall is how to get playing time for a very talented group of players. If the ticket office can get the word out about the quality of this years team we should see a significant increase in season ticket sales. We could also be looking at a 24-25 games won season.
 
I agree. It's not out of the realm of possibilities that we'll see one of the newcomers redshirt... probably one of the freshmen.

The last played to wear #32 was Mike Shaw in the 2015-16 season.


Ja'Shon wore #11 in high school, but that number is retired and not an option (Mitchell Anderson's number- retired Feb. 6, 1999)-

I sure hope not, in this era of hundreds of graduate transfers. Too often that 5th year benefits someone else. Plus you never know what's going to happen. I'm excited to see what Brummett can do, even if he starts out with limited minutes.
 
I love this signing, and I've really been impressed with this staff when it comes to recruiting. Of the 4 players we've signed, I really like the incoming freshman. Bile is a wildcard to me, and as of 4 days ago, I was a little disappointed in this class. Don't get me wrong, I think Brummett will be a very good addition, and I'm sure Bile will be fine, but compared to previous years, this class just wasn't getting me excited. Now knowing that Boya will be here and getting Henry on board makes me really excited and optimistic.

The only thing I worry about is keeping everyone happy. Now, I think most of guys are pretty unselfish, and who really only care about winning (Wardle wouldn't have brought them in otherwise), but we've got all but 2 rotation players coming back (and only one leaving player who was getting consistently high minutes) and we are adding 5 players to the team (counting Pittman). There won't be that many minute to go around, so someone who played a lot before or some of the new guys won't be on the court as much as they'd like. Now if this is our biggest problem, then it's a good thing, especially compared to the problems we have had for the last 8 years or so, but it is a little worrisome. Ultimately, though, I just can't wait for next season.
 
Chibears- it is hard to predict - and there's always someone who might be unhappy with playing time...and if they don't want to work for it, or sacrifice like Pittman did or improve to deserve it, then they ought to seek playing time elsewhere. I really don't see that happening...

...instead, I see every one of these guys as having a distinct role in the future and most of them were kinda "under the radar" and not all that highly pursued by anyone else....so it would appear there's every reason they might be thrilled to be at Bradley, playing in the MVC........ perennially one of the Top 10 conferences in Division I

This is exactly right, Wardle has even said on occasion that he HATES redshirting for that exact reason. Even if someone like Brummett could redshirt and potentially grad transfer, the staff believes the potential 5-10 min a game is worth more towards development than the risk of a grad transfer.

I think you could see that a lot with Stipo last season.
 
I disagree. There is a reason that the vast majority of successful teams and coaches regularly redshirt players every year. Even a player like Stipo would have benefited a lot from redshirting, IMO. We saw it last year with Pittman, and I think we'll see it this year. :)

I'm not saying that is my position. I am saying that is the position of the staff. Since Wardle was hired, we've redshirted what...two people (Pittman and Merritt)? I believe it was Pittman's decision himself to redshirt rather than the staffs, and i don't think the staff thought very highly of Merritt.

I think Stipo would have benefited significantly from redshirting, but the question would be by the time he graduated, would he leave and go play higher?

I think the staff makes evaluations of players, and if they think that there is a chance that they will grad transfer up, then they just don't redshirt them.
