I wouldn't disagree, but where did he say that? I must have missed it.

Only the top two returning scorers in the conference to push them even further!

On a side note....I really do need to stop looking at DaCoach's BU countdown....everyday!

I know, every time I see it, I click it. As if it would magically be down to 1 day left. I wish. :o

This is on paper the best class by far as it has quickness, size, and what appears to be good basketball players; this is what we needed to hopefully be able to cut the nets down in ST.Louis and make another good run in the NCAA tour; one more good recruiting class next season should put us in with SIU and Creighton as teams that consistently get into the big dance.

[/b]Just for the sake of argument/consideration, I'm going to nominate the class of Patrick O'Bryant, Daniel Ruffin, Jeremy Crouch, and Sam Singh, as Coach Les's best recruiting class. Certainly, on paper, this new class gives us all reason to be excited and to be filled with positive feelings of what could happen if every thing goes right.
But folks, there is no POB in the mix. He put us on the map again, and it may be a while before we see the likes of him again.
And from the class, we have for next season, the two top returning scorers in the league, not to mention that one of them has to be considered the best point guard in the conference, and the other one is the top 3 point shooter in the league, and tied for the top spot in all of D1 basketball.
Although Sam has moved from the class because of his red shirt year, he still has time to fulfill what we all hope will be a productive career for BU.
I'm as excited as anyone about this new class. I think the basketball gods have indeed smiled on the Braves these past couple of weeks. And, I sincerely hope I'm wrong. Because, If this new class surpasses the accomplishments of the POB, DR, JC, and SS bunch, we are in for some extremely satisfying viewing of Bradley basketball.

Our new 7 footer could turn out to be better than POB. You just never know... :)

I don't mean to be picky, but Daniel Ruffin was recruited and signed the year before POB and Jeremy Crouch. He had to sit out a year, but he was not part of that class of 2004.

Here are the recruiting classes:
2002, Jim Les' first recruiting class--

Here was the 2003 class that included Ruffin--

2004 class--

2005--

2006--

2007--

Considering the 2004 Class "only" contained an eventual:
ABA Player
Harlem Globetrotter
NBA Lottery Pick AND
Nations best college 3 point shooter
It almost seems to be a slap in the face to call this new class the "Best"

Given a better base for the team, I do expect this years class to have more wins in their first year, though, and it may be deeper.

Which is exactly why this entire thread is about 2-4 years ahead of its time. All we can do is take JL's word that at this point in time, this class looks better than the 2004 class did six months before we saw them play.

Yeah, on paper this team looks like it has more talent than the 04 class did on paper coming in. He is not diminishing their accomplishments at all.
