One of our outstanding agents here at BradleyFans told me last night that
there was a discussion on a sports-talk radio program yesterday in Milwaukee
and the talk centered on Marquette's options for their next head coach.
Guess whose name was discussed for a significant segment??
Hint.....he is the ONLY Division I coach to win a game last night... ;)

I don't know why he would want to leave.

there's so much potential on the bench that he has brought in...I don't know if he has "lost all faith" in the program to want to leave.

I really don't see Les leaving for another job anytime soon, unless it's one of the premier jobs in the country. I think we can all agree he hasn't done enough in his coaching career to warrant that.

Right but it won't be to a guy who is 10 games under .500 in a non-BCS conference.

to set the record straight...

Jim Les' career record is 105-89, 16 games OVER .500, and Les' has won seven consecutive games against Big East Teams and has a 3 game winning strak against Big 12 teams.

In fact, Jim Les' lifetime record against BCS conference teams plus the CUSA teams (including Memphis) is...16-8...

Yeah, JL has a pretty good record actually. I don't know why you'd say 10 games under .500. His name has been getting thrown around a lot lately and it's starting to make me a little uneasy. And as a previous comment mentioned...you'd be surprised with how much money they can throw around. I'd be absolutely shocked if JL left for Marquette, but anything is possible with enough money, and correct me if I'm wrong, but Marquette probably has established themselves as a program more than Bradley has and has more of a chance of getting into the NCAA tourney over Bradley any year.

I know MU would be a better job, but I don't understand why JL would leave his alma mater, a team he has rebuilt himself to coach at Marquette. Please stay, Jimmy.

I seem to recall some talk a few years back about Bradley being "a destination, not a stepping stone," and "this is the only college coaching job I'd ever want." I don't think JL is in this for the money, and I don't think he'll be heading to a place that he himself probably considers a lateral move. His aim isn't to ride Bradley to a big-time job; his aim is to MAKE Bradley a big-time job. And despite any records you want to cite against BCS leagues, we're not there yet. Not even close yet. On the path, yes, but a long, long way to go.

If those are direct quotes, then that makes me feel better. I'd hate to see him go.

I have to echo IlliBraves' statement. With JL's time spent in the NBA and his background in finance, I would assume money is not an issue. Why would he leave? I think JL is smarter than some of these other coaches who left for "greener pastures". If money is not an issue, if he likes it here, if the fans love him here (which they do), if it is his alma mater (which it is), why leave?

By the way.......

Tom Crean's TOTAL WINS as a D-I head coach when hired at Marquette??

ZERO.........

My bad. 10 games under .500 in conference play in a non-BCS league with an average finish of 5.7 in that league.

Jim has done some good at BU for sure. But he isn't a candidate for premeir jobs.

When did Bradley play Memphis?

Brocks. Every coach says those things at press conferences. In fact, I would wonder about his desire to be a good coach if he wasn't looking to move up. I have no problems with that.

Marquette isn't a lateral move to Bradley.
