lol guys... sad but true and the money is being spent this way in public and private schools across the country... I'm just saying that if we want a program that competes with the big boys, then BU is going to have to ante up!
 
We don't pay our assistants near what Jerrance is making at UofI, primarily because they are all essentailly interns and glorified yes men. But the head coaching position at Bradley certainly pays more, if you get what I'm saying...maybe enough to lure someone like Jerrance to the Hilltop.
 
When I brought him up...It was with the belief that JH's next move will be to head coaching. He saved Illinois at NU last year by drawing up a press right there on the spot! Alot of talk claims he has to knowledge to enter head coaching. From the article about his salary and from what I know...JL makes much more.

He is a nonstop recruiter. If he can get studs to Illinois....he can get kinda-studs to BU!

From my experiences...I should be making more as a high school teacher than what our assistants deserve!
 
Jerrance Howard is very loyal to Illinois, and I suspect he sees himself as the next head coach there. I think it would not be possible to hire him away from Illinois.

DC you are right. We will not see JH anytime soon at BU. He is very loyal to the U of I. In fact they gave him a pay raise after Kentucky tried to lure him away from Illinois. It would be nice but isn't gonna happen if and when JL does leave.

I don't think he will be at U of I very long. He can be as loyal as anyone, but everyone wants to be a head coach and he is ready. He may not be interested in Bradley that I don't know. I think he will be gone within three years though.

You can be loyal to your heart's content, but with Weber not retiring anytime soon and no reason at this point for Illinois to show him the door, I don't see Jerrance finishing up there.

Also, anyone comparing Kentucky, he was headed there to be at least a #2 or 3 assistant and not 1 or 1A like he is at Illinois...


He will leave and for the right reason...a head coaching job.
