Anyone seen this kid play? I read on redbirdfan that he was on campus this weekend at their Elite player camp, and that he performed very well.

I don't know much about him, but I am sure Daniel Poneman has seen him and has an opinion. He ranks him #16 in the Illinois class of 2008. Other sites generally have him a little lower--

Simeon Coach Robert Smith and Chicago Express Coach Reggie Rose both reported tat ISU offered, as did Texas A&M and Florida St.

He is a lockdown defender and a greatpure point guard. He is a very good passer and a very good decision maker. Great ball handling abilities and a good outside shot. Would start from day 1 at ISU.

That can say TWO things about a recruit or a program....either he's REAL good or the guys allready there aren't.

I like to get real good freshman but I "worry" if he's better than whats allready playing.

Hisname hasnt quite blown up yet, because while most other juniors were starring on thier high school teams last year, Smith was 6th man on Simeon's state championship team.
