Kevin Dillard injury (SIU)

I think SIU has a better chance of winning the MVC then Lowery becoming are (DePaul) next head coach. Ponsetto was not really interested in Lowery at all per my source. If he did well enough in the MVC and had SIU has a possible NCAA teams I would be singing a different tune. But no way does he make it to Lincoln Park next year. DePaul is thinking MUCH MUCH bigger than C-Lo. Good luck this weekend.

Thinking big and actually getting are two different things. As attractive as DePaul could be in reality it is not. Potential yes but a big time coach wants things to be in place now and not have to work for them. It just cracks me up that DePaul fans are still living in those great Ray Meyer years. Time has past you by and without a complete overhaul of the facilities DePaul will not be able to compete with the upper 1/2 of The Big East.

I don't know many DePaul fans that even exist at this point anymore, let alone live in the Ray Meyer days. Jerry Wainwright hands down ruined are program and ruined the careers of some young, talented b-ball players. We were in the NIT a few years ago in the Big East...and close to the top half. We were the only team that year to have 2 players drafted by the NBA to not make the NCAA tournament because of Wainwright. What Bradley fan could forget Crouch (I think) who was draining 3's and then we decide to go to a 2-3 and still get demolished by you guys on your Sweet 16 night. It was a bad night for a DPU fan. IMO for DePaul to be successful they have to lock down the city for recruiting and focus on that and they'll be fine. While the Allstate is no 5 star arena facilities is a smoke screen to try and defend Jerry Wainwright by many in the media.

The best Chicago talent the past decade have split from the area and I would assume it would take a monumental shift in resources to change DePaul's perception to the recruits out there. Kennedy did no better and he was a decent coach. St. John's is in the same boat. Great area talent that is hard press to stay. I'm trying to think of a major program in a major urban setting that without the right resources are able to compete. Georgetown competes well for talent but then again they have great facilities.
