Keys for the game...

What are the keys for a BU win tonight? Besides obviously defensive intensity, are there any matchups in particular that are going to be more important than others? What should our gameplan be? Do we try to feed Collins? Do we want CRob and TW to penetrate?

I think the Braves have one advantage that may not be readily evident, due to our jc and new players...

King O was quoted today as saying it will be intense because they(ISU) all hate us and Bradley hates them. Emotion can affect your play, so maybe our newer guys can avoid some of that and not get so hyper.

Execution and half-time adjustments will win this game. Have a game plan, re-evaluate at the half and play under control. I don't know what to expect- but BU showed me something in getting some road wins- Now they must defend the home court and gut out another win against the Redbirds.

I am looking forward to it!~

Personally I think that the adjustments at half-time are key, JL has come out looking great at the beginning of the last few games, but I feel like the other team has been adjusting to us pretty well. Granted, thats much easier because we were playing well, and the other team was not - i.e. how do you adjust to bad? But nonetheless, we've lost the second half the last few games, and I don't think we can afford to do that against a team like ISU who can go on extended runs.

Agree about the 2nd half. On one hand you do not want to stop doing something that was sucessful, but you know they will adjust to your first half "bread and butter" Introduce some new stratedgy ("attack" different defenders..) to keep ahead of the opponent's adjustments..

Solid perimeter defense with weak side help when they penetrate. Taking care of limiting easy transition baskets will be huge. We need to make them make plays and force them to speed up their O in which they will be more prone to turnovers.

We need to take care of the ball, show some patience in getting the ball inside through penetration or passing it into our bigs. Once we establish an inside game that should open the kick outs to our shooting. It is sorta of like establishing the run in football so you can later throw down field.

take it right at them, make them foul us to stop us, force ISU to go to their bench, we make our free-throws and BU wins.

Have a 6-10+ point lead at halftime

And no on feeding Collins...Odiakosa will eat him alive tonight IMO

C-Rob and T will be huge tonight both inside and out....as well as their D...

Another thing is to hold ISU under 30% from 3 and outrebound them...

If we can do that, we have a real good shot at winning!

Bradley has to keep them off the offensive glass. It's not a strong point of BU and ISU attacked Creighton on the boards last Saturday.

In all fairness, outside of Lawson and w/ Stinnett being on the bench quite a bit, Creighton lacks good athletic rebounders....

Woodfox, Witter, and Dotzler aren't gonna get it done on the glass...

When you compare that to Wilson, Roberts, and McCain who rebounds really well for being under 6 feet, thats a better matchup.

Our problem is getting Collins to put a body on someone, anyone, and not let his man go around him for easy O-Rb

DC will show up today BOOK IT! DC plays a lot better at home and expect him to be a part of our plan to score in the paint. We will win if we limit their scoring in the paint and play decent perimeter D and we will win if we can score in the paint and hit our FTs. I'll be happy if we score around 24 points from the 3 on around 8-12 shooting. We will need to take high percentage 3 point shoots and that means our shooters will be able to set their feet and square up to shoot. We do that be establishing ourselves in the paint. The bigs will need to really step up this game.

We gotta put these guys away, we have lead every game except Butler, yet haven't put anybody away. I expect to have 15-17 pt. lead in the second half and should win by 20. But watch we'll let ISU back in and squeek it out. Just ask yourself one thing what would their record be if they would have played our swchedule? I don't think it would be much different than ours. Are they really any better than say ETSU, I don't think they are.

What?? Do you think ETSU could have beaten Creighton on their court? I don't...I think Creighton would dominate ETSU in Tennessee. I agree that we shouldn't be intimidated by them and I hope our players aren't, but we can't deny ISU is a good team. They are however far from unbeatable.

Key: Have more points when time runs out at the end of the second half. Everything else is just window dressing...

The man speaks the truth!

There is a first for everything... Now if I can just get my wife convinced that it is the medical truth that the prostate gland needs to be exercised at least 3 times a week and that drinking German beer is like eating bread everything would be fine!

We can't let all their gaurds hit 3 pointers early. They have a bunch of guards who can shoot. Lets get in their grill on D and take it to the basket on O. Get Odiakosa in foul trouble and then they will be in trouble.

Sorry bradleyguy, i should have got back to you before the game. I have to disagree with you though, neither ISU or creighton would fair very well against ETSU. They would not have an answer for Courtney Pigram or Kevin Tiggs, ETSU would beat either of those team by 20+ at home and 7-10 on the road. And, again I don't think ISU would be 14-1 with our schedule. It would be more like 1-14 (SIU at home is a lock)...
