some further comments from Dan Muller about their depth...
"Injury update: The Redbirds are in their fifth official week of practice, but
haven't had their 11 eligible players together much.
Senior guard Keyshawn Evans was shut down last week with an injury to his
left foot and placed in a boot for two to four weeks, putting his availability for
the Nov. 6 season opener against Florida Gulf Coast at Redbird Arena in
question.
Sophomore forward Taylor Bruninga sat out Monday's practice and hasn't
gone more than an hour during a practice yet while still feeling discomfort in
his left foot that sidelined him for 11 weeks.
"When he's in there he looks like a guy who can help us," said Muller of
Bruninga. "That's one spot we don't have a lot of depth, but we have
enough. If you can't practice, it's hard to play you much."
Even some players who have to sit out this season have been on the
sidelines.
Dedric Boyd missed two weeks with a concussion, while freshman Abdou
Ndiaye practiced for two weeks before being shut down again by recurring
pain in his shin. Jaycee Hillsman is out indefinitely after hip surgery."
so that's five different guys who have missed much of the practices so far due to injuries!
