Koch Bar will be in the TOC

Arlington Country Day (ACD) led at the end of the 1st quarter 18-10 and leads now 28-15 nearing halftime.
The offense goes mainly thru the guards and Koch doesn't have any real offensive opportunities - he has to create off rebounds - but does have 2 pts and a lot of effect changing the opponents' offense down low.
He is raw but quite athletic, and could develop some offense if he gets a chance.

now 34-25 at half - our coaching staff is present

BTW-
other TOC scores..
from last nite Washington 59 - Genoa-Kingston 47
Huntsville Lee 65 - Proviso East 60

Today- Proviso East 74 - Miss Hills Bishop Acad 61

3rd quarter score
ACD 50 - Spain Park 44
Spain Park has a Bruce Pearl/Auburn commit who is very good (Austin Wiley)

Koch Bar has 8 pts thus far

Jim Mattson and a few other local media appear to be present - other notable local media not present -- some (Mattson) are filming -

Bar finishes with 13 pts/7 reb - ACD wins 76-64 (one other source had him for more)

transfer Alonzo Verge had 20 (unofficial - one site said 18 )
Luguentz Dort 17

Losing team Spain Park had two really good players
Austin Wiley (Auburn Commit) 24 pts, 14 rbs, 9 blks,
Jamal Johnson 24 pts, 9 asts, 8 rbs

I think Koch Bar actually had 15, but one tip-in got credited to a different player. He was 7-7 from the free throw line, and all but one were swished. That was good to see. But where he contributed most was defending a terrific player for Spain Park- Austin Wiley. Wiley, as mentioned is a 2017 Auburn commit. He is 6'9" (some sites say 6'10", but he was a couple inches shorter than Koch Bar). He is a consensus 5-star prospect, and one of the top post players in the country:

But Koch Bar defended him pretty well. Wiley scored about 24 points, but about half of those came while Bar was out of the game and a sub was in.
Koch will be a work in progress, and his game will get better with time. He is a true "5" post player who can defend the rim, and will give Bradley a different type of big man next year.

Jim Mattson took a lot of video and interviewed Koch Bar after the game, so watch the channel 19 & 25 news to see highlights.

Koch Bar's next game is 1:30pm Friday against St. Louis Christian, who got beat 73-45 by La Lumiere

would love to hear some background - story of how he came from South Sudan, how he learned basketball, etc...

Arlington Country Day beats St. Louis Christian 60-57

Leading scorer for ACD is Luguentz Dort with 22 pts

Koch Bar contained SLCA's 7-footer Ousmane Ndim

Koch Bar had 14 points and a handful of rebounds vs a very talented La Lumiere team. Coach Foster and Adams were in attendance as well as Callum Barker. La Lumiere pulled off a 79-70 win over ACD. Brian Bowen was the MVP of the tournament and will be in the NBA soon.

Brian Bowen looked like another Tracy McGrady-type of HS player the night I saw him play (Thursday). He can do it all, and is hard to stop. He's got dozens of high D1 offers.
La Lumiere looked tremendous, so it must have taken a nice effort by Arlington Country Day to stay within 9 points.

ACD fought hard and kept the game very close until the 4th quarter when Brian Bowen took the game over. La Lumiere was very impressive, the only unimpressive thing to me was their head coach. He got t'd up in the 3rd quarter then physically punched his chair and went on a extremely loud profane tirade before being ejected.
