Korver signs with Bulls

Korver is Steve Kerr except about 3 inches taller and can pass & rebound!! :-D:-D:-D:-D

One step further, he's very young and with All Star talent. The kicker is that they got him pretty cheap IMO. 3 years and $15 million.

I agree, I like this signing.

Korver set an all-time NBA record for 3-point accuracy last season at 53.6%. That would have been a tremendous percentage even for the shorter college 3-point distance, but for the 23'9" distance the NBA uses, it's an incredible accomplishment considering all the unbelieveably good shooters who have played in the NBA. He bested Steve Kerr's previous record of 52.4%, which like many of the 3-point records, was set in 1994-95 during the period in the NBA when they shortened the 3-point distance for 3 seasons.

I wanted KK even if we got the big boys. We needed a shooter and he is that. I really like this signing. Maybe we can get Ridnour as a back up guard and resign Brad Miller for a backup post.

Rose/Korver/Deng/Boozer/Noah is very good to me. It is a complete team with everyone in a roll. Plus it allows this to be Rose's team as well. If we signed another guy, he would have been #2. Add James Johnson, Ridnour, Taj, and Brad Miller all coming off the bench that is a good team.

I just don't like Miami's team. They have no bench, big egos who all need the ball, and no shooters. Just is not a good combo in my eyes. We will see I guess, but I don't think 3 guys is enough for a championship.

Some other NBA moves-

LeBron officially will not join Miami as a free agent. The Cavs did a "sign and trade" and sent him to Miami in a trade that sent some draft picks back to Cleveland. The move also increases LeBron's salary. So much for those who claimed he will take less in Miami.-

13,000 fans showed up at the AA center in Miami for the unveiling of the new members of the Heat-

The Knicks signed a "budget" free agent point guard Raymond Felton - 3 years at $25 million. Does that seem like they might have overpaid a bit?-

And Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf boldly declares that the Bulls are a better team than Miami. This article also mentions some other names the Bulls might try to sign.-

I completely agree with your assessment of Miami's team. I don't see them winning anything, at least not right away, and I believe the Bulls have the potential to be the more well rounded team despite the "three headed monster" on Miami.

Great signing of Korver by the Bulls. This guy is the real deal in that he can do more than just shoot three's. But that three point percentage makes him a very dangerous option at the end of games. Add a couple of more players the Bulls are going after, and I think this team may surprise a lot of people in coming years!

Forget Ridnour, I want the Bulls to sign Shaun Livingston. :)

If his knee can hold up for 20 minutes a night, he would be a very solid option off the bench as he can play the point and guard either the 1 or the 2.

As for competing in the East, I'm not sure that the Bulls are better than the Hawks, much less Orlando or Boston. I think they're definitely going to be interesting to watch and a very solid team, but they won't be championship caliber unless Rose really takes it up a notch...like to a D. Wade level.

Looks like all of the new big 3 will be getting max contracts as espn just reported that Miami also did and sign and trade with Toronto that send the Raptors two first round picks for Bosh. Cleveland will be receiving 2 future 1st round and 2 future 2nd round picks for Prince James. So much for them taking less to play together. ESPN just reported that the Bulls have offered J.J. Redick a 3 year, 20 Million dollar deal. Because he's a restricted free agent Orlando has 7 days to match it. If the Bulls get Redick and can resign Brad Miller I think the Bulls could be contenders for the Eastern Conference. As for Miami as the old saying goes, "Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it."

This is starting to remind me of when Texas signed A-ROD. I'm sure they will be good, but not unbeatable especially in a couple years when Wade starts wearing down. How are they going to fill out the team with no picks and not much money?

They're counting on being able to sign guys to exemptions. They can sign anyone to the minimum amount based on their years in the league. So they could sign a guy like Brad Miller for, I don't know, like $5 million a year.

What will be really interesting is the new collective bargaining agreement. The owners may insist on a hard salary cap like the NFL has. That would ensure that the Heat would have to split up those guys just one year into their deals! I would laugh so hard.

I might actually sit down and watch a few NBA games this year (not over a good NCAA game though) now that Mr. Korver has signed with 'Da Bulls! Though I'm a Braves fan through and through, I always liked watching KK - was a complete player his last 2 years with CU.
I couldn't have cared less about the Bulls in prior seasons (even though I live in Chi-town) - just not passionate about NBA.
Maybe my interest will be at an all-time high this next season, but nothing can outdo College Hoops, Baby!

If the Heat add Mike Miller, resign Haslem, maybe sign a Shaq to the Vet Minimum...and If Riley pulls off another miracle by adding Fisher......The East is done in my opinion, assuming the big 3 stay healthy.....Boston would be the only Eastern team with a chance to beat them in a 7 game series...I know theres a lot of work to be done to get those pieces...but it wouldn't surprise me.

I would not say done but it would on paper one of the top 2 teams. I'm not sold on Shaq being that guy. He could if he would throw his ego aside and not demand the ball and play D strictly. I'd be surprised to see Fish play anywhere except in LA. Kobe really wants him back and Kobe usually gets what he wants i.e. Shaqless Lakers.
