Korver signs with Bulls

I would not say done but it would on paper one of the top 2 teams. I'm not sold on Shaq being that guy. He could if he would throw his ego aside and not demand the ball and play D strictly. I'd be surprised to see Fish play anywhere except in LA. Kobe really wants him back and Kobe usually gets what he wants i.e. Shaqless Lakers.

...And more rings than anyone in the game.

Looks like J.J. Redick will also be joining the Bulls. The Orlando Magic has not yet declared that they won't be matching the offer sheet tendered by the Bulls, but it appears unlikely they will. The Magic signed free agent Quentin Richardson today, and are already at the salary cap, meaning they would have to pay millions in luxury tax to the NBA if they re-signed Redick.

I really, really wish this were the case, but according to ESPN.com,

"All indications are that the Magic will retain Redick, the 11th overall pick in the 2006 draft who has developed into a key contributor off the bench -- and perhaps a future starter.

Magic general manager Otis Smith insists he hasn't made up his mind on Redick, conceding only that it might be more of a decision by owner Rich DeVos and team president Bob Vander Weide because of the financial implications."

I'd love to see Reddick on the Bulls, but it sounds like the Magic are willing to go over the cap to sign him. I hope they change their mind!

They're already well over the cap and will be paying the luxury tax. The Bulls knew this, and intentionally front loaded his contract. In year 1, the contract pays $7.5 million. Already being over the tax threshold, and with the tax being dollar-for-dollar, the Magic would essentially be paying $15 million for Redick's services next year. So the chances of Redick being a Bull are pretty good.

Back to Korver, it's unfortunate the Tribune made sure everyone knew what the score was in the game pictured in photo #12.

Good question. Shaun Livingston has been rumored as a strong candidate. Few people know this, but Shaun had a fantastic final month of the season last year. I hope they take a flyer on him.

I certainly hope it's Shaun. They're probably waiting to see what happens with Redick before committing to a PG. I would imagine that they could afford a backup PG that lacks 3-point range if they have both Redick and Korver on the roster. Otherwise they may look towards guys like Keyon Dooling who could provide some range from a backup 1.

This is true. I don't have the number in front of me but he was in the 14pt/7ast range while starting. I was just reading about him on a couple of the SB Wizards blogs. They REALLY don't want to lose him. One of the blogs was pleading with ownership to find a way to sign him as a long-term backup option to John Wall. It would be great to get him to Chicago to back up Rose.

How about some Iverson? :) Im kidding.

Livingston makes financial sense for the Bulls, they though seem to love them some Pargo so I would not be surprised that they resigned him.

If they go cheap and inexperienced that is where they will really miss Kirk H.

Charlotte just shipped their main man Felton to the Knicks, sounds like a better gig for Livingston to get his starting minutes back. He would of been stuck behind Rose quite a bit in Chicago.

Jason

Curious to know if Korver is a starter for the Bulls? Is he quick enough to guard the 2 and strong enough for the 3? A CU alum I know said he comes off the bench.
