Latest sports "eras"

Obviously the Bulls are one of the last "eras" for sports.

Patriots?
Spurs?
anyone else?

Personally, I think Patriots are an "era" they've been pretty great for the years in recent memory. Even the years w/o a Superbowl win, they still have been in playoffs (let's just ignore the cheating for the sake of argument).

Spurs are up to 4 if i'm not mistaken. All under Poppovich. You can thank Tim Duncan for this. One of the most fundamentally perfect forwards in recent memory.

I heard last night, some ignorant Celtic fan referring to themselves as the "Celtic era" and I was very upset.

thoughts?

This is not a Celtics "era". They were a terrible team before they rebuilt and brought in Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett prior to last year. So they won one cahmpionship and are now moving into the 2nd round of this year's playoffs. Maybe they might survive another round, but I don't think they will.
So if they fail to win the title this year, that snaps their run at 1 title. If that's an "era" than every champion in every sport has their own era.:D

At halftime of game 1 between the Celtics and Magic (at Boston), Orlando is dominating the game and leads 54-36. The Celtics look terrible. Maybe the series with the Bulls did take too much out of the Celtics?
Could this be the beginning of the end of this Celtic's era? :D

This observer and Sporting News writer thinks so........

"credit the Bulls for winning "Game 8" -- or, at the very least, exhausting the
Celtics to the point that they spent the first half of Game 1 against the
Magic getting throttled so much that even an Orlando collapse couldn't save
the defending champs."
"..you have to wonder if the Bulls series just took too much out of the Celtics
to win 4/7 (four games out of seven) in this round."

If you are going to count the Patriots..... what about the Atlanta Braves "Era" in the 90's and beginning of the 2000s?

Very good point.

Braves were dominant during that time. How many years in a row did they win the NL East? like 10?

They were division champs from 1991 to 2005. 15 straight years.... I think it proves how difficult it is to win a World Title when they only won 1 out of those 15 years.

I hate to say it but the Yankees have had their era with Torre! Can't say there is another team in baseball that has had their success the last 10 years or so not even the Braves.
