Congratulations to one of our own guys, Lennox Forrester.
After interviewing their 3 final candidates last week, SIU-Edwardsville offered their vacant head coaching job to Bradley assistant Lennox Forrester today. And the word is that Lennox has accepted! This is a great opportunity for LF. This is what all coaches live for, a chance to have a head coaching job at a great basketball school. SIU-E is Division II, but has applied to move to Division I, and they will likely be Div I within a few years.

The other 2 finalists were Rodney Watson, assistant coach at SIU in Carbondale, and Jeff Dunlap, assistant coach at Western Michigan University.

We will miss you Lennox, and everyone at Bradleyfans wishes you great fortune (except of course if you play Bradley! ).
More details to come.....

Yeah congrats to Coach Forrester! Selfishly, I'd've liked to hang on to him, but wish him the very best at SIU-E (except in those cases when he plays BU).

Was Forrester the lead recruiter? I know Les is very strong in this area on his own, but I was just wondering if recruiting was Forrester's main area of strength.

I thought Watson was a shoe-in for this job. Good for Forrester that he gets the chance.

Congrats to Lennox...what a class guy, and obviously qualifed
to take the job, as I conclude SIU-E certainly checked out all the candidates quite thoroughly.

He will make a fine head coach.

A hearty congratulations to Coach Forrester!
It will be interesting to see if he continues to employ Bradley's guard-oriented offense.
The story is still NOT announced on the SIU-E website, so I hope it turns out to be confirmed and not one of these Altman-like on then off stories.

Wow.....good for LF....he's paid his dues and should get a shot! :D Now who will JL bring in? :? I could handle another Les on board!

And congratulations to BradleyFans and Da coach, you seem to have an uncanny way of knowing these things hours, sometimes days before anyone else.
Can't count all the times you guys have big news here way before it surfaces elsewhere.
Honestly, I wonder if most of the other sources get the stuff here.

Lennox, we hardly knew ya. Yet your hiring was most likely one of those well-placed stones that started the Bradley avalanche. Best of luck down there.. 8)

Lennox has been a key part of the resurgence and success of Bradley basketball over the past several years. He was Jim Les' first assistant coach hire, and he was a contributor to the development of many of Bradley's players, including Patrick O'Bryant, Zach Andrews, and others.

Though Bradley fans are disappointed to see him go, we are happy for Lennox to get a chance as head coach at SIUE.

I'd encourage everyone to send a quick email wishing Lennox well and thanking him for his service and contribution to Bradley.

Is there any chance that Bradley/Jim Les will hire Wayne McClain to compliment the coaching staff of BU?

Assistants getting hired as head coaches is the sign of a good coaching staff. Who was the last BU assistant that went directly from BU to a head coaching position? Tony Barone? Mo McHone? Nevertheless, the Jim Les coaching tree is beginning to bloom, and I wish all the best to Lennox.

BTW - It's too bad Duane burned that bridge at his alma mater...

Ritchie McKay... almost....he left BU in 1993 and was head coach at Portland State in 1995
