Lets talk St. Louis

I'm not completely familiar with the mechanics of the MVC tournament....for those who are....give a projection of how the tournament seeds are shaping up, and where BU will likely fall. I, for one, believe that any one of 5 teams could win in STL: UNI, ISU, CU, BU and DU. Should be a barn burner.

Where's a good place to stay that's close?

Take BU off your list this team is headed in the wrong direction...We are to inconsistent to be a champion...JL and the staff are slowly loosing this team IMO... If we loose in Omaha which is very likely, their confidence will be IMO at a all time low!!

you guys are sounding likke the Pjstar board :)

If you were to ask other teams I doubt they really want to play BU although this would be the list of teams I would like to play later..not sooner in St Louis

UNI

Everyone else is beatable anytime out.......

The Sheraton City Center is the closest hotel to the ScotTrade Center. But if you stay there, you are not very close to anything else of interest. Bradley's team hotel is the Renaissance Grand Hotel. It is near the Edward Jones Dome, and close to Laclede's Landing and the Lumiere Place Casino.

Here is the Arch Madness website-

If you click on the Hotel Information link it will show information where each team is staying.

Forget Laclede's... Washington Street has all you want or need. If you stay at the Renaissance Grand Hotel or any hotel near it.... you got it all right there. And I walked to/from the Arena most of the time last year - wasn't that bad. Course... needed to hit a few establishments inbetween on Washington Street to "warm" up. :D

I'm not taking them off my list! If anything, these type of tournaments are made for teams that are inconsistent because all a team needs to do is get hot for three nights and all of the sudden they are dancing. With no one really consistent team in the Valley this year, including UNI, this tournament is for anyone's taking.

I'll take Bradley off my list if they lose in St. Louis, but not a moment before! :D

Well said, Bradleyfan, I agree. Saturday's game was disappointing, but Bradley has played close with every team that we would all consider the top contenders.

What establishments do you recommend on Washington Street? We usually stick to the Landing, but are willing to try different places. We'll be staying at the Millennium.

I don't agree with that, we had them all but beat twice:cry: Third time a charm:roll:
Isn't it;-)
I'll will have a better idea after this Wed. but Creighton may just be the one to stay away from:!: Anyway, got to play someone and win:!:

I erred a little. It's Washington Avenue.

I got stuck in the Dubliner quite a bit. ;)

But that whole avenue has a ton of joints to fit for any type of person.

Sorry - meant to quote you before to let you know I was talking to you. But so I'll do it now. Here's a couple links for ya. 1st one gives a brief on what's gone on to develop Washington Ave. The 2nd lets you search St Louis by what you are looking for.... but you'll have to try and find the ones on or near Washington Ave.

I think this could be the year you could have one of teams in the play in game win it all. I don't see a team that has played consistently enough that you could say they are the favorite. It won't shock me to see all the top four seeds lose in the first round or all win. I think we could be in for one the most competitive Valley Tournaments ever.

I have a feeling Bradley will be the 5th or 6th seed. After the Creighton game on Wednesday, the 5 conference games remaining look pretty favorable. If they can go 4-1 then should be in decent shape for the 4-5 game likely against Evansville, Drake or maybe even SIU. If Bradley can win the 4-5 game, then I think they have the advantage of playing on back to back to back days. They showed that they got stronger in the Florida tournament when playing back to back days. Staying in the rhythm and flow likely had a lot to do with it. As for winning the MVC tournament, it's a crap shoot right now. The top 6 teams are fairly equal and can get hot at any moment.

Personally, I'd like to get the 4th or 5th seed. I would really like to avoid Creighton and ISUred in the 1st and 2nd round because they scare me the most. If we have a scenerio where we can get Evansville/SIU/Drake in the first round, then UNI in the 2nd round, I would be feeling better about our chance to get to the final game than if we had to play ISUred or Creighton.

This will be my first time going down in 10 years, so I'm hoping to bring the Braves some luck (although I failed to do so in Cedar Falls and Des Moines :()

For the most part I agree with this. But with ISU's recent roster problems they are getting shorthanded real quick. We'll see how the Phillips thing shakes out. But I agree, I would want to stay away from Creighton as long as possible in St Louis. I do think we can beat N Iowa, and honestly, we've played well against ISUred both times, so I don't know. We just need to show up and play well, regardless of who we draw in STL.
