Longest Game Ever article

Saw this article on the NCAA site and they even have a picture of our home at the fieldhouse! Pretty cool, just too bad we lost that game - but still a part of history that belongs to us!

Interesting fact: attendance - 7300

So do I, possibly the most exciting game I’ve ever seen. The Fieldhouse crowd was electric from start to finish.

I was 13 and was not at this game. I am envious of you guys having this as a memory - even if it was a loss.

Must have been 7299-I was supposed to come home from college that day and go to the game, but my flight got cancelled and I missed it.

I was there with my wife. She was 7 months pregnant and after the 4th OT she was ready to go. I said we're not leaving, we're seeing history. The 5th OT someone must have scored early. Buy this time I'd say a third to half the people had left. Knowing who ever had the ball was going to stall and take the last shot. We was in section J with a lot of empty seats, so I laid down on the bleacher, and told her to wake me up with 30 seconds to go. Ha - I can still remember the winning shot, a15 footer from the left wing. It was an exciting and booorrring at the same time. I'm glad I saw history, but sad BU lost.
Sure hope we get this season in. We have so much talent. Maybe the most since the Chet Walker days.
GO BU

I was there with my dad that night. If memory serves me right I believe games didn’t tip-off until 8 at that time. My dad was ready to go after the sixth overtime but I talked him into staying. Got home after midnight...Definitely was a lot of fun

Told a guy from work at Cat that I’d give him a ride back to his car in East Peoria after the game. Made it a long night going from the Fieldhouse to East Peoria and then back to West Peoria.

I'm a new member of this Board but I'm a Long time B.U. fan as I am almost 78 years old. I had 2 season tics so I was at this game with my 11 year old son and yes we stayed until it was over! Even though we lost, it was Great!! Loved Robertson Fieldhouse and those days! I am really looking forward to this next season!

Dawgs! Welcome indeed! Great to have a legacy fan on the boards! Don't be a stranger and add your comments as often as possible! Especially anything to do with BU history! :)

Well Tommy, this may blow your mind---I talked my Dad into 2 season tickets in 1957! I have many memories of all those seasons! The Braves mean so much to me! BTW--I graduated from B.U. too.

Nice! Season ticket holder since '57 then? That's outstanding!
We'll have to look each other up at Carver this season once we start playing! :)

Welcome dawgs123! It’s always nice to hear from new members! All of us definitely want to hear the stories especially from some of the older long time fans.....

My favorite memory of the Fieldhouse days is to hear PA announcer Frank Bussone say “their on their way, their ready to play” as the Braves ran from the dressing room to the court.
