Did anyone know the US had a 12U national baseball team, or that there was such a thing as a U-12 World Cup of Baseball?
Yesterday in Taiwan, the US team won their opening game in the U-12 World Cup of Baseball 43-1 over the team from New Zealand.

The US team plays again today at 10 am CT against Panama. They beat Panama twice during a qualifying tournament back in May.

After winning their first game over New Zealand 43-1 on Friday (7/28 ), the U12 USA team needed a late rally to beat Panama 6-4 on Saturday (7/29). They were off Sunday (7/30), but then played a very good Dominican Republic team today (7/31), and were defeated 13-9.

The loss by the US U12 National Team's 23-game international win streak dating back to 2019.
Their next game is tomorrow (6:30pm Taiwan time/5:30am Central Time).

Despite the loss, the US team stands a good chance of making it to the Super Round. The top 3 teams from each group (A & B) form the Super Group, while the bottom teams from each group form the Consolation Group.
Then each team plays games against the 3 teams from the other group from August 3-5.

The top 2 teams will play for the Gold Medal on Sunday, 8/6.
