Matt Roth?

I asked the same question with no response. I would think he would have been there considering ISU and BU are after him. If his Coach was there he didnt have a game last night. I hope he was there and got a good taste of what Bradley Basketball is all about!!! As the PJ Star said today watching this team is FUN, FUN,FUN!!!!! What kid would not want to play on this team????

Nobody I have talke to saw Roth at the game. So if anyone knows for sure, let us know. He has been to several BU and ISU games.

Da Coach, you guys did a great job carrying me at the game last night!!! I heard the screaming over the internet and you guys brought home the W!!!!

Thanks Mex

If I'm not mistaken, Kevin Brown (MR's coach) was Levi Dyer's coach at a HS in Colorado before he returned to central Illinois to coach at Washington.

Obviously I am saying this from a long distance away, and have never seen Roth play one moment of basketball but I did sit near him at the Southern Miss game.

The player is 6 1+ about 190 pounds, even if he can shoot from all over the place, his size would seriously make his ability to be a difference maker minimual for a few years in the BU program. I do not know if waiting for that size of a player to make any decision is worth it to BU. I certainly hope with the physical, athletic guards we have recruited recently that we are recruiting over Roth on to a more sized 4/5 player.

He simply reminds me in stature of a Shawn Jepson or Aaron Zobrist.

I think he is a legit 6-2 and an inch or so taller than Zobrist
and could get bigger.
This is probably why Matt isn't getting Big Ten offers, but I think he'd be a star at BU!

I am just curiious Tornado, before Zobrist got hurt I think at Villanova his senior season the guy was playing as athletically, with great confidence in his shooting. He played larger then 6+ in height. He had also filled out to a point of where he was moving other guards around and running around other players.

What I am wondering is simply is Roth worth waiting for or holding a scholly for? I just feel like we need strong athletic larger players to play interior defense and run the floor. I am sure he has the potential to be a fine player but with what we have recruited is he worth waiting for?

I think Matt Roth is the real deal,
a mid-major JJ Redick, he will be a star at BU

Do you think BU should continue to recruit over him for more physical/taller player(s) or hold open a scholly for Roth?

I think he's more of a Danny Adams - a good player who fits a role in a system. He's definitely worth a scholarship, but not a program-changing recruit. I think he could have a fine career at BU, especially in our system (I am so glad we have a system now). :)

You don't think that Roth his the best pure shooter you have seen in years?

I think he's one of the better shooters I have seen in a while. But, you need more than just being able to do that to play and excel at the DI level. I've seen Roth get locked off by athletic defenders, and that's at the high school level. JC was a comparable shooter at the HS level. I don't think he's as good of a high school player as Jeremy Crouch, and don't think he'll be as good of a college player. He's not as athletic, not as versatile, and not as big.

Why is it taken as a knock to say that I think he's a system guy? What's wrong with being compared to Danny Adams? He tied the school record for 3's in a game this year, and single-handedly put the dagger in ISU this past weekend. I think being compared to DA is a compliment.

Jepp was a legit 6'2. If Roth is that tall he'll be fine. I would wonder if he is as athletic as Jepp was? Jepp's athleticism made him the good player that he was.

I'd love to see him play. Is his team expected to make a good run in the state tourney?

Aaron Zobrist

One of the most hard-working kids I've ever seen. I still think he's one of the best I've ever seen at moving without the ball. He would fly around screen after screen after screen and he was tireless. I always liked his game.
