What really looks good is next years soph. class of EM-DN-TB-AT-JW....this is really something to build on.....Freshman Jordan Prosser and Milos Knezevic with one more ride to give for next season!

And you could possibly add WE to the class as well....

edit - beat me to the punch

Talking about WE, how long and what is the typical schedule like for his rehab? Will he be able to start practicing with the team from day one next year at 100%?

Also want to give JL and staff credit for using the DW scholie that went to EM....at 1st it didn't make sense but now after the facts with DW and not getting the core scores and grades to play D1....EM seems like even more of a steal IMO! CONGRATS STAFF....with work EM has a chance to be a very good.... if not one of the better PGs in BU history...I cannot recall anyone any quicker with the ball than EM! :D

I agree Big Mike. Eddren is lightning with the ball. Once he figures out where exactly he's going with the ball-----look out. He's been really good the last couple of games, he's gonna be a load the next couple of years.

I know, I am just making a point. We hang our hat on one year, they hang theirs on a decade. We had one year where we had some NCAA success. They've had a decade of NCAA appearances to go along with their 20 win seasons, conference titles, and conference tourney titles. If I had a choice I know which one I would choose.

Wow! I just looked at the Creighton media guide and they have won 20+ games 10 years in a row and been in a postseason tournament 11 straight :o . I knew they were good but............................ WOW!! :o

The problem with classes that large is the turnover. At minimum we'll be losing 6 seniors that year, if we have any JUCOS come in in 2010, that'll add to that. Plus any defections that may happen... I would have actually liked WE to only be here four years, if that makes sense...

If Warren redshirts and we fill the 2009 scholarship, we'll only have one available for that class. If we give it to a juco, then we won't have any kids in that class. That would be interesting! Obviously not accounting for any defections.

We are talking about roster turnover like we have won something. Of course I would like even classes of all 5 star freshmen. But maybe what we need is one dominant class to go out and win the league or the conference tournament. Then we get rolling and go from there.

The graduating class of 2010-11 is shaping up to be that class!

Have you seen the turnover over the past 5 years? We've had significant turnover nearly every year JL has been coach. Large turnover can be dealt with every 3-4 years. It gets real tough when it's every year. It's been a LONG time since we've had a class of 4 year kids this large. This is a good thing no matter how you slice it.

That's the trade-off I'm willing to make with this group. While you might be losing them all at once, can you imagine what we might get in return their senior year?

Plus, who knows what batch of talented freshmen/sophmores we might have when this group graduates? :)

Sean Harris is in the Class of 2010 and is not your typical juco, as he will come in with 3 years of eligibility.

Right, Harris will be in the same graduating class as Prosser and Knezevic. Therefore, if AW redshirts and we add another juco coming in 2010, there will be nobody in the graduating class after those three.

Taylor Brown is the 2nd best steal BU has ever had after POB. he has a chance to play for pay. Too many skills, with unlimited engery to keep him off the floor, can play 4,3,2.

That is a big statement. Other great steals for a mid-major like BU were Mitchell Anderson and David Thirdkill. I hope he is as good as either of those two.

But I don't think BU was considered a "midmajor" until the 90's. Through most of the 80's it was a national basketball name. It could be again if we could get past that label. Gonzaga, Butler, Creighton . . . it can be done. We beat out Georgetown for Anthony Manual in the 80's and nobody thought too much of it.

I beg to differ. That was a great recruit for DV. It was mentioned in the national news that it was a steal. Georgetown at the time was a concensus Top 5 program. I also believe if DV stayed at BU we would have had a program like Gonzaga. He did a great job recruiting and was a great X and Os guy. There has always has been a difference between the big guys and schools like Bradley. It was in the 90s that the TV guys branded us as "mid-majors".

Eh, sort of. Look at that '82-'88 timeframe (before, as you say, the media invented "midmajor"), and there were a lot of schools like Temple and Richmond and even BU that were not in BCS conferences but were nonetheless considered major basketball schools. I even remember La Salle being a big name back then! DV had BU heading for big things, for sure. He didn't act surprised at all that he got Manual . . . said he "owned the road to Chicago." The guy was a classic.
