Message Board Meltdown

DePaul has some pretty good fans, but they have waited a long time for some good seasons, and you can tell the frustration is showing.

Some posters admit that Bradley "outcoached" Depaul.

In one of the postgame quotes, Jerry Wainwright gave this excuse for the 20 point loss-
???‚¬?“We???‚¬?„?re a little bit shorthanded right now,???‚¬?? said DePaul coach Jerry Wainwright"
And he bemoaned missed FT's......tell me about it!

But lots of fans thought otherwise.
Some complained that he stuck with zone despite BU hitting from outside.
"I am waiting for jw's excuse and the jw supporters excuses.
The team either wasn't prepared or was surprised at what Bradley did. I can't believe that a team starting 4 guards could SURPRISE their opposition by shooting threes"
"yeah they start 4 guards and we come out in a ZONE!!!!! why does he play zone so that the smaller team can shot they three's?"

Another area of dissatisfaction was the fact that Coach Wainwright went so many minutes with his freshman PG Will Walker, while much of the time more experienced players were on the bench. Will Walker did not have a very good game, and some of the fans are upset that he is treating the other players this way.

Nothing like a great win to cause those Bradley pessimists to go into hiding.

Well, now that we have a W in the bag against DePaul, we will certainly be pulling for them to do well going forward too strengthen BU's RPI

I sat at my desk and watched the play-by-play on the live stats. I was too nervous to listen to the audio at the start. The WEEK feed went dead on me after a few minutes and I couldn not get past page 3 of the BUBraves.TV signon.

But Dogs, I wanted O&B and you to know that I did light up the victory cigar (plus a couple of celebratory libations) last night. :-P

Ha, ha, ha...right on.
The silence is deafening.
Can you imagine how some of the BU-bashers would have lit up if BU lost?

I also had a celebratory libation after the game.....but I'll leave the cigar smoking up to you, DB!! :)

Let me know if you can fit a game or two into your work schedule this year. Would love to get the "California" gang together again!

Wow, that's vicious. And after one bad road game.
I actually think Depaul is a much better team than last year and will win a bunch of games in the Big East.

Maybe we regroup for a BU road game in Omaha or Wichita????

I do not know if you were referring to me or not, but I'm not in hiding. That was one great game, and I will admit it when I am wrong. However, it is too early to admit it. I always stated that I am behind our team 100% and I like our players, but I still think we are short-handed and will finish around .500 for the season and my goal is to still stay out of the play-in game. The key is this was ONE great game. ONE. There are definitely a few things that will be in BU's favor all season that showed greatly last night. These are: heart and desire, quickness and good coaching. This may take them a long way this year because usually those things don't have bad nights. We will see and I will be big enough to admit my predictions were wrong, but not after one game against what seemed to be a poorly prepared and undisciplined team. There are not too many nights in the Valley were we will see a team so poorly prepared and undisciplined; and how many nights are the threes going to drop in like that? Of course, I hope all of them will be like the DePaul game and I hope I am wrong about my predictions.

I would actually guess that AB99 is referring to some of the over-the-top criticism elsewhere, and not on the Bradleyfans board.
