Minneapolis - Metrodome roof collapses

The Bears play in Minnesota at the Metrodome next week, on Monday night, Dec. 20. There is some concern the dome might not be fixed or be safe for that big national TV game. Since preparations for televising Monday Night Football need to be made days in advance, the NFL and ESPN are considering whether to move the game.

According to this article, the Metrodome facilities manager says he is "optimistic it would be done in time for next Monday's game against the Chicago Bears".
However, it is not just a simple collapse of the inflatable dome, there are major tears in the teflon fabric which will be difficult and take time to repair, especially with worse, subzero weather yet to hit Minneapolis. I expect the Bears game to be moved maybe to Ford Field in Detroit, where the Vikings-Giants game that was scheduled to be played today was moved to, or maybe to Chicago.
One other field that has been mentioned is University of Minnesota's TCF Bank Stadium, but it had been coled down for the winter, and had several feet of drifting snow covering the field and seats, and would be difficult to get ready for a game in a week.

A little duct tape and it will be just fine for Monday night:-D

But if not---

NO--- they will NOT play a Vikings home game in Chicago:roll:

Notre Dame, Indiana... JUST SAYIN! lol Maybe Michigan Stadium! :) I think this is a great opportunity to bring football back to the campuses for a week! lol In all seriousness, though, I would bet on TCF Bank Stadium if anything.

.. The Big House was just used for a hockey game over the weekend (UM vs MSU). So I don't think it has a usable field..

I heard today they were considering either St. Louis or Indianapolis because they want somewhere that has a "dome" to best represent home field for the Vikings

Technically this never would of happened but high winds Saturday was to much of a risk for workers to get on the dome roof and clean off the snow. They took the risk of it collapsing instead of someone getting killed.

I guess the ground snow load in Minny wasn't available at the time of construction.
