Miss JJ Yet?

It's a good point, we definately missed having someone to do the dirty work Saturday at UIC. I hope and believe that one of the guys (I think it'll be Theron) will step up and fill the role that JJ played over the last few seasons.

Theron has to get in the game first....

Theron played well in the UIC game, I thought. Based on my observations of the video of the game, he was our leading rebounder. But his stats didn't show it because I believe 2 or 3 of his rebounds were credited to Salley. But he had 4 rebounds in the first few minutes of the first half, and grabbed a couple more in the first few minutes of the second half. On one of them he was whacked in the face, but no foul was called. After that, his foul trouble limited his aggressiveness. But of all the new guys, I thought he played the best.

two years ago this post would have been laughable considering all the boo's he received game in and game out. just goes to show how a little hard work can change peoples view fast.

I couldn't agree more w/ Les is More. All I heard for 2.5 years was how bad JJ was and what a mistake it was for him to come to BU and in 1.5 years he became a cult hero all because of hard work. I, for one, always saw that side of JJ from the very begining. He always forced the offense out towards the 10 second line w/ his quickness and long arms. He was almost cat like in his ability to force the action. It sure is nice to know that some people started to realize his overall ability, even if it did take a while just like they did w/ Les. Some people can only see the good in a person when everything is going great but can't see anything but bad when the team loses.

and how harsh and uninformed some viewers' (and some posters') comments can be.

We miss JJ and we miss Will Franklin. Will's defense was underrated, and his offense would help a lot right now as nobody has stepped forward yet as a 3rd outside scoring alternative to Ruff and JC.

The last 1.5 years of JJ's career I loved his game. He found his role and played smart basketball that helped his team win.

Prior to that he was BAD, real bad. He showed very little court sense and his play IMO hurt the team.

Anyone who was paying attention wouldn't have painted JJ's career with a broad brush good or bad. Any team could use the GOOD JJ, especially this on last Sat night.

I think the numbers JJ put up in high school had us all expecting too much out of him. He had to be a class act to put up with all the boos and never complain.

J.J. was very much a class guy. Many of us saw the way he treated his family, and cared for his little girl. A lot of young people today look for ways to get out of such obligations. And his presence at Bradley events shows he's proud or his relationship to Bradley. I hope J.J. gets the chance to be at most of the Bradley home games.

JJ was a strong defender and did a good job for a year and a half for our program.

Will Franklin played well for his two years here, so did Boogie, as did Andrews.

But as it is with College basketball, guys are on campus generally for 4 years then they move on, I do not get why anyone would miss someone who can not possibly be on the team.

The person is gone, spending time on missing someone who has no ability to be on this current team is a complete waste of time. Speculate all you want but while your at it how about how much we miss Hawk, AP or heck even Roger Phegley.

CHRIST guys its be one regular season game.

When you start a new job do they do a performance review freaking one week into it? NO!

yes we miss them, but because we're not up to par? no. give the new guys a chance.

Agree... I also think that one day JJ would be an excellant coach. I dont know if that is
in the works for him or not.

I think that this thread is interesting... Again, we are talking about a gym rat who went out and proved people wrong. (see my post about Sam M in the new guard thread)
