More bad news for the Illini

There are rumors that now that Nunn has been dismissed, Illinois Coach John Groce will try to land Kentucky transfer Charles Matthews.
 
More bad news for Illini..

the two top targets they are going after with recruiting for 2017 (both are Top 100), both just were set back with severe injury-related problems.....

Jeremiah Tilmon suffered a severe dislocation of his right shoulder with ligament damage and was unable to recover with conservative measures, so he just underwent surgery

there is a report that Matthews has eliminated Illinois & will choose between Michigan & Xavier
 
Another black eye for the Illini- though this one not as bad as the several previous arrests since it does not involve a current player. Joseph Bertrand, who is from Sterling, Illinois, and who was part of the Illinois men's basketball team from 2009-2014 was arrested at the edge of the Illinois campus in Champaign around 1 AM Saturday morning for domestic abuse of his girlfriend-

made bond & is out of jail but has court date Wednesday- eye-witness reports state:
"Bertrand and his girlfriend were arguing outside shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of East John Street.
... Bertrand pushed the woman to the ground, causing minor injuries.
He said a passerby witnessed the incident and gave a statement to police.

Bertrand told police that both he and his girlfriend were being aggressive during the argument, as opposed to things being one-sided...."

well....regardless of what ends up happening- (and Champaign has been notorious for letting guys off the hook -- remember all those drunk, underage guys at the party with Jamar Smith and despite Carlwell almost being killed nobody was ever held to account on delivering the booze to the partiers, and the multiple times Darius Paul skeeted by, Jaylon Tate arrested for "allegedly slugging girlfriend" then let off, .... etc...)
.....this really shows stupidity...
the guy was ARRESTED on charges but hasn't had his court date yet - so of course the charges are not officially "filed". won't know 'til Wednesday, obviously.

More bad news for Illinois State as well. It is being reported that yet another one of their players just got another DUI. What is going on down there?
Muller needs to dismiss the violators instead of coddling them and even starting them like he did with Brewer.
