The WCU game may rank as one of the most important games in JL's coaching career!

0-3 after a 4-0 start, with an injured star out for the year and no inside game, would be the epitome of JL's tenure as BU's coach.

How do you feel about the importance of the WCU game regarding the future of JL's coaching career at BU?

Personally, I don't think it even registers on the list of "most important games" for Jim Les in terms of his career. I don't believe he'll solidify his future at BU or lose his job no matter the result.

Frankly from where I stand it doesn't matter one way or another because my opinion doesn't matter...

Les will probably be here another couple years because while the arena will continue to diminish in attendance and the fan following will continue to head toward negativetown, it won't matter because the administration won't have the stones to buy him out...

That direct enough?

And before someone decides to pick that apart, remember, it's just an opinion.

I'm looking for a different option but I can't think what it is, wish I knew, going to wait until the end of the season. If things go south with the Braves, which I hope they don't, the Illini will be a fun team to follow. He should be able to play with what he's got, I'm just looking for him to have an open mind and try different styles of offensive play. It shouldn't be that hard to adjust the game plan.

Go Braves :)

Do we really have to do this thread multiple times every single year? I don't consider myself pro or anti JL. But, I really get tired of seeing this thread. I know it's some people's OPINION that this is the most important game in JL's tenure. But in MY OPINION, that is garbage.

On another note, GO BRAVES! Let's get a win on the road and get back to feeling good about your play.

Until we know how many years the coach has left on his contract we will have no idea about how much it will take for a buy-out, I have never agreed with putting one game only as so important in whether a coach stays or is let go, you have to look at the whole body of work and right now things do not look good with the bad losses BU has had and because of them attendance will go down as your band wagon fans will not be purchasing tickets to see a mediocre team.
There still is a small window open if the team can find a way to play much better in the next several weeks but in order for that to happen I believe there has to be a change in the personnel we play and the offense we run and I hope I am wrong but I just do not see our coach making the necessary changes as he is too comfortable with his system of small ball.

Thank you Beninator, GO BRAVES! I could care less about what type of team Illinois has.
Lets concentrate on the Braves we are only 6 games into the season!

Same here. I hate to even see people with Illinois gear on at a BU game. It's a good thing for them that I'm not taking tickets at the front gate...

Yep!

No, actually - would be nice to hear that we fought hard tonight, played solid D, and played a close game (win or lose)
Keep rebounding margin to -5 or better.
Shoot at least 42%
Shoot at least 75% free throws

I am interested in effort. I want to see the effort every game. Don't want to see players going through the motions. If we have the effort good things will start to happen.
